I would have scored everything 5, but the entrance is up about 6 steps. There was a bell boy / car parking attendant outside. He didn't offer to help my wife carry her suitcase up the steps, in fact he just watched her struggle. i was already carrying 2 suitcases myself. I expect better service from a hotel of this quality.

Over all the hotel was very nice but we arrived at 5pm and our hotel room was not ready yet, check in is at 4pm. We were given cards for free drinks so being comped was a nice gesture. We then tried to order room service for breakfast but our phone was broken. Our overall stay was just decent.

Worst experience horrible front desk staff
Stayed to see a doctor at the the university of miami, bascom palmer. One week after a rotator cuff surgery and left foot cast. They gave me a room very far from the elevator room # 1202 the room AC wasn’t working and the carpet was disgusting. Called the front desk staff many times and waited about three hours for someone to come to the room. I was in so much pain. They sent housekeeping to the room with an air freshener. I called the front desk again and asked to speak to a supervisor but Melissa told me there was nobody but her to assist. Melissa was very rude and helpless had a horrible attitude. She told me to meet her at the front of the elevator to show me another room, she was like running, I couldn’t keep her pace. She took me to room #1226 a downgrade from what I had reserved, the smell of the room was terrible, I told her that wasn’t the room type I had reserved and she started arguing with me telling me that they had upgraded me when I checked in. I had to walk around the property to see two other rooms. The smell, the dirty carpets is definitely a big issue at the Gabriel. I told her I was going to walk back to the original room #1202 so she could verify the room type I had reserved. I also asked her to just cancel my reservation that I was going to find another hotel. I told her that I was under the impression she was in the wrong field, she should not be working working directly with guests.
