The property looked like it was part of an old casino, but it was very clean inside. The staff were mostly helpful, the biggest issue for us and I think for the staff too was that the elevator was out of service. They helped us carry our heavy luggage up the stairs. The front desk clerk said the elevator would be fixed on the second day of our stay, but it was not. Maybe they were having difficulty getting service. The room was a good deal especially with breakfast included and the breakfast options were good. The location near the train station was very convenient for us, but it turned out to be a rough and dirty neighborhood. Many people sleeping on the street, one mentally ill woman was yelling at passers-by when we arrived, and people were shouting outside all night. I felt like the staff were doing their best to make it a decent stay, though.

The hotel was great and the room had everything i needed. The breakfast was also good. The receptionist helped me get an immediate cab. I was sorry to see the homeless people suffering in the cold from my window early morning. That's not anything to do with the hotel.

Historic hotel but a little too retro
The entrance experience is not great. Feels not safe and security on room doors is also low. It is in the station area which is convenient but more could be done to make the entrance feel more welcoming and secure. Carpeting should be removed as it is not fresh. Top points for newly renovated bathrooms and size of rooms and also bright breakfast room with good choice.

It is extremely convenient to the central train station, which is why I chose it. But this means noise of all kinds, non-stop. I was also told by my friend not to go in the direction away from the train station when coming out of the hotel because there is a lot of crime nearby. I didn’t see city police or hotel security in the vicinity at all, and did not go out at night.

We reserved a room at the hotel. But we were sent to an apartment building nearby with no security. Adicts were geting high with spoons and neddles in the cozy entrance every night. The non-hotel building had 5 stories without elevator and no staff. If we had wanted an apartment without reception or security, we would have rented one for halve of what we paid. The apartment was in bad condition, the bathroom floor was all broken and covered with a dirty carpet. In my view this hotel is a total scam.

Cute old-fashioned decor, carpet in room needs replacing, but i liked that it had an ensuite bathroom. The staff are super friendly and the area is very walkable and directly beside a metro / subway. Lots of unhoused people and many under the influence of substances that are wandering about outside the hotel, but as a solo female i still felt safe.

We loved the 14-foot ceilings in our room. The room was clean and quite and nicely furnished. The breakfast buffet was excellent. And the location next to the bus terminal and train station made it an excellent pedestrian place. It is an old building with a grand spiral staircase. If you're sensitive to cigarette smoke there was a faint odour in the stairwell and strong smell in the restaurant service corridor.
