The old Hollywood theme is cool and all, but the rooms definitely aren't the best. Definitelyva really nice bar area and restaurant, and it is an iconic place. If you do want to be right in the mix on the Sunset Strip, you'll love the location. I live in LA, so staying in such a busy area is really not for me

Overall, the staff were excellent and I enjoyed my stay. Rooms are definitely tired and could use an update. Good location, can walk to conveniences in West Hollywood if needed (grocery, wine stores, nails, food/bars etc). Slightly dark in the hotel also. But again, wonderful/attentive staff. We had a great time at the hotel. It’s an iconic landmark in Hollywood. As such we found ourselves staying at the same time as several private parties hosted for the Oscars which were happening that weekend. This meant some of the facilities were unavailable. This was initially disappointing, however the management team went above and beyond to ensure that this didn’t disrupt our enjoyment by arranging for a late checkout so we could use the pool and additionally offered discounts on checkout. There was a real sense that the management team were determined to ensure that our stay was a good one, so we are very grateful for that as as such have no problem recommending this hotel.
