22 Aug 2026We booked to go for a meal and stay the night for our 25th Wedding Anniversary as this was where we had our first date; The staff were fantastic and made the evening so memorable as we were presented with a complimentary bottle of proseco with our meal and when we ordered desert, they sent an additional board out with 2 macrons and fruit with happy silver wedding anniversary piped in chocolate sauce. We really did have a wonderful time and were also upgraded to the Heron suite.

27 Jul 2026I stay at this hotel frequently, the newer rooms in the hotel building are nice particularly the ones above the front doors these provide a lovely view. I always enjoy my meals here and on a nice evening it’s so peaceful to sit outside looking over the river with a refreshment. Breakfast is fresh cooked which I do prefer however not a massive choice in terms of Continental. Overall I enjoy staying here and the staff are always helpful.

11 Jul 2026Stayed here for 2 nights for my partners birthday. The hotel is in a lovely spot by the river with a nice area outside to relax in. It's ideally situated between 2 national trust properties, (both of which are well worth a visit). The room itself could do with a bit of TLC, but it was clean and comfortable. Slept really well. Food was decent, self serve buffet breakfast which had quite agood choice. The staff were friendly and there was plenty of parking on site. Had a pleasant stay overall and would definitely stay here again.

26 May 2026Our room was not as big as expected from the photos and we were overlooking a flat roof with extractor fans continuously on - not so great when we had to have the windows open in the heat and could not get the ac to work. However an extremely helpful receptionist (Jay) gave us a different room a little bit further away which was a little bit bigger and slightly less noisy (thanks Jay 🙂).
Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting by the river.
Evening meal was nice, but I was still hungry as the portion of crushed potato with the bream was miniscule.
Breakfast was good apart from the raw mushrooms (shame, as they were lovely big mushrooms and would have been delicious had they actually been cooked).
The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Overall, we were happy with our stay and would return again.
