Average at best…
This hotel Is mediocre at best. I would say it’s a juiced up motel 6 with a good dinner place and bar nearby that keeps people coming back. The beds and pillows are subpar and while it calls itself a hotel, the doors open to the parking spots which gives it a motel vibe. I would not stay here again. There are several other places nearby that are a lot nicer for the same price.

1 night is not enough!
1 night is not enough. Not sure if it’s because it’s the Christmas season but our stay was magical! Check in experience was fantastic. Front desk was thorough in what the resort fee includes and they even provided a refreshing spiked Arnold Palmer. The resort is quiet but vibrant. Our king size mattress was so comfortable. We originally booked a night but extended our stay as we had an amazing time and didn’t want to leave. We’ve already discussed making this our vacation spot anytime we need a quick getaway.

Loved it!
Beautiful hotel! I didn't realize there was lake in San Marcos but we really enjoyed our view/stay. We came down from NorCal for the CSUSM orientation and ate at the local restaurant which was DELISH. Would absolutely stay here again!

Great Hotel
Hotel was clean and comfortable; we loved the fire pits at night. The view was beautiful, and my kids loved the kayaks. The area is nice with lots to do, very close to Legoland and not a bad drive to the San Diego Zoo. We would definitely stay again.

The Lakehouse was recommended to us by a friend so we decided to do a quick weekend getaway. This was such a great quiet, tranquil resort. Although its right in the heart of San Marcos, you feel like its far away. Check in was quick and welcoming. Our room faced the lake and pool. I would highly recommend the 2nd floor because of the high, vaulted ceiling. The room was huge compared to other resorts. The kids loved making smores by thr fire. Although it was off season, Audrey, the pool bartender was serving and took care of our drinks and food during the day. Having coffee by the lake was such a nice experience. We will definitely return when the weather warms up again.
