Close to some lovely shops and a very friendly community centre with a cafe. Used the pool and jacuzzi which was nice after being on the road. Room large and comfortable with a comfy bed. Carpet a bit threadbare the only let down. Had a good nights sleep and a good choice at breakfast

Really large and spacious rooms which were lovely and clean. Breakfast was well stocked and had plenty of choice. All of the staff were really lovely to talk to and couldnt do more to help. The spa facilities were very good and the pool is a good size with a specific area for children. The only thing I would say is the changing rooms need a little TLC especially with the paintwork above the showers; no proper ventilation so mould is starting to show. Overall though the hotel very much exceeded expectation and would happily return.

Hotel is dated and in need of some refurbishment. Breakfast was worth the money because we added it to the original booking- was twice the price if we’d paid on arrival.

We had a pleasant 1 night stay. Check in was made effortless and welcoming by the young lady on reception (sorry I didn’t catch your name but it was Saturday 7th afternoon). We used the gym and pool which had been recently refurbished and were great. There seems to be other renovations taking place which the hotel could benefit from. Good value for money.

Pros: Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Short walking distance to Mickleover centre with a wide range of restaurants, pubs/bars.Good breakfast selection. Cons: Hotel appears outdated, especially the rooms. The first room I was given (308) had a sliding door to the balcony with a gap letting cold air through and offered no sound proofing to the busy A516. This room was happily exchanged for another (307) but again the balcony door offered no sound proofing or heat retention despite closing properly. Poor mattress as you could feel the springs. Review would have been 2* if it wasn't for the friendly staff.

We weren't advised there was a pool, so we didn't get to use it. Staff were all lovely, especially receptionist who booked us in. But the second lift being out of order meant we had to wait for the lift when checking out. There was a chair in our room [118] that needed joints gluing and could have collapsed, and somewhere in the bathroom is leaking damp, resulting in a few harmless fruit flies and damagedbath panel and skirting.
