At check-in we were just told to sign a few forms and remit payment. We weren’t told anything bait where the pool or laundry or any facilities were located. We weren’t given a number to reach the front desk and one wasn’t provided on our room phone. On the website it at stated breakfast was available at the hotel’s restaurant. We got there and asked only to find out they had it closed for now. That would have been nice to know. The indoor pool that was shown as an amenity was so cold we couldn’t swim so our kids were very disappointed. Our room was clean though and had a great view.
The ocean view was great, but the toilet wouldn’t flush. The comforter was cozy, but the elevator took you up to the 4th floor before taking you to the lobby even though the down arrow was lit (May have something to do with the water damaged buttons).
Good place - older however well maintained. Love proximity to OD center - can walk to dinner etc. Wish they had coffee in the morning though. Only those in-room packets which are not great.
Upper floors were all being remodeled. Lower floors all reeked of cigarette smoke even though they were being called 'non-smoking'. Entire place felt dingy, was dated and in mediocre [at best] shape. Rooms were quiet, beds were firm.
Wasn't happy with the seating in the main living quarters as the sofa was too tiny even for just us two people. Other then that, we enjoyed our stay.
Room was small, but had a great view. Nothing like watching the ocean from bed. A few things though: 1. On check in, there were three people in line ahead of me, none of whom were wearing masks during the pandemic. The man behind the counter had his mask down on his chin. When I got to the counter, he put his mask on properly, since I had one on. Throughout our stay over the next few days, the front desk had a mask on 0% of the time we went through the lobby. 2. Electronic room key just stopped working, and the front desk had to manually open the door. She could not get it open, asked me to do it giving me the key, which I got to open. No sanitizer, no mask. They did fix it though, and maintenance fixed the lock after an hour, and did a good job. Again no mask. 3. Room was cramped. I mean bathroom, main room, desk was a small square table that was very wobbly. We just slept there and watched the ocean some from the room, but really, we had to spend most of the time elsewhere. Great location, great view, but I wish the staff took the health and safety of their guests a little more seriously.
We have stayed here lots of times with no issues. This time our bed and pillows were completely uncomfortable. We had several rooms in our group and not all were this way.
Easy check in. Room exactly what I was expecting. Pillows were too big. However it was a really great daycare
Booked a KING SIZE room; went to look at first room and it smelled of cigarette smoke-we didnt even turn on the light and when back down. The second room was a 2 standard beds, which we didnt say anything about but the room was too high (11th floor- it made me feel sick.) Finally get a room again with 2 standard beds. The indoor pool was COLD I guess I assumed it would be heated I dont know. The indoor Hot Tub was dirty. I didnt see anyone clean the pools or hot tubs the 4 days we were there and the same pile of sand lay in the bottom of the outdoor hot hub the whole time we were there. Nothing else was available the workout room or the sauna or restaurant. Walls are very thin.
My only issue was that I booked a king bed and got 2 queens.. I ask the lady at the front desk and she said she didn’t have any king
