We loved this hotel as it is well positioned in Oxford. We were met as we drove up by the valet who took care of our car. The hotel is in an old prison which was cool. We had rooms in the female prison block which was across the courtyard. The rooms were very comfortable. We had drinks at the bar which was great. Breakfast was delicious and I would recommend getting it as part of your stay. We enjoyed our stay here and would book it again if we returned to Oxford.

We were so looking forward to staying in a former prison and we weren't disappointed! The refurbishment has really leant into the history of the building with the decor reflecting it's past! The one thing I will say is, there are many, many stairs! I am awaiting knee replacements so they had a very good work out!

This is an iconic hotel. The rooms are clean and modern and the staff are friendly and welcoming. However the star of the show is the ‘prison’ backdrop which manages to make you feel like a hotel guest without feeling like a guest of his majesty.

A rather interesting concept for a hotel and the reconfiguration of the rooms from cells to ensuite rooms were fantastic. The retention of all the original features and the maintenance of the castle is outstanding and its location in relation to the Town Centre is perfect. The Staff were very polite and helpful and the room was spotless. I stayed there for a Caribbean Tourism Event and there was a function hosted on the 3rd Floor in a lovely room with a massive screen. All well presented ad the lunch was quite tasty. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there and the invited guest expressed the same sentiments.

Had a great stay here, perfectly located in central Oxford and also onsite parking which was helpful. Unfortunately our room wasn’t ready for a while after check in time but the staff were apologetic and gave us some money off and a free cocktail which was great. The room was lovely, we stayed in a suite which had a roll top bath which was loveeely! Will definitely be coming back.
