Despite being built early 2000's, the hotel decor is so old fashioned and feels like it was built with a job lot of 90's building material and decor to get done on the cheap. Corridors feels being back to communistic times again from its look and feel (been there have the T-shirt).The standalone room, not a proper description when we ordered as our room was opposite a main line train with trains passing every few minutes which was not mentioned in the room review. After speaking to reception, eventually given an upgrade to a sea view room as our original booking, we didn't have an option to upgrade.
The room we had looked outdated with old decor. Even the bathroom had no standalone shower and was a mix bath with shower attachment and the shower screen was the old plastic handle pull screen which I haven't seen in over 30 years. Bathroom towel rails, radiator and shower caddy all with mild rust. No tea/coffee facilities in the room which all modern hotels nowadays provide at least.
The main dinning area is old fashioned. Breakfast options, slightly limited in my opinion but enough to get you by but enough to get you by but again outdated decor when sitting in the dinning area.
Thankfully only stayed for 2 nights as travelling through. Hotel & rooms were clean. Short walk to the port for the ferry which was ideal. For the money we spent for this hotel, not worth it in my opinion and no way a 4star hotel and more around 3 tops if anything.
