A Must Stay!

This is an amazing place to stay, from the very start you are greeted and shown around the property. The rooms are beautiful and the nature surrounding them can’t be beat. The owners are so great and breakfast was amazing every day. They gave us recommendations to awesome spots, going as far as setting up last minute tours for us. I would highly recommend Las Iguanas to anyone!

Good Stay

The scenery was wonderful in the area and their hospitality was inviting / welcoming and exceptional. It was good but for the price and considering the other reviews I expected a little more. It was a little further from area attractions in La Fortuna than expected.

We loved the outback country rainforest feel of this property. About a 30 minute scenic drive into La Fortuna, but close places to buy meals or groceries. Home cooked made to order breakfast was included and delicious. Family owned business and great customer service.

Piece of paradise

I had the pleasure of staying in this enchanting bungalow in Costa Rica, and it was truly a slice of paradise. The rooms were beautifully designed, clean, and very comfortable, with a luxurious jacuzzi that became my go-to spot for unwinding under the stars. The hospitality was second to none—everyone on staff made me feel incredibly welcomed and cared for. Waking up to the lush natural surroundings and peaceful ambiance each morning was nothing short of magical. This was a perfect, relaxing getaway, and I can’t wait to return for another visit.

Beautiful and tranquil

Our visit was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed the tranquility of the jungle. The service was impeccable and the iguanas did not disappoint. Jose is very attentive and his madre will fix you and impeccable breakfast while teaching you new words in Español too.

100% recommend this place. We had the bottom bungalow and were perfect for two of us. The hot tub is awesome with the view. The family that owns this is very nice and accommodating. If I am ever back in the area I would stay again.

We stayed in a 3 bed 2 bath bungalow type rental at Bungalows Las Iguanas. The beds were comfy and the property was very clean. No trouble with bugs. We had a 19 year old and 24 year old with us and they loved the private outdoor pool and hot tub. This is a small family-owned business and they were all very friendly and welcoming. They offered a great free breakfast every morning and we could text them any time we had questions. Another plus, we saw a pair of slothes less than a mile from the property that hang out around some power lines. We had a relaxing stay and would stay at this property again if we ever go back to La Fortuna. The only negative about property is closeness to road. Our bungalow was in front of property and road noise was pretty loud and woke us up from sleep. If you rent a bungalow further back from the road the noise will not be an issue. There are some crazy drivers and loud cars/motorcycles in Costa Rica😂 This was one of the best properties we have ever stayed at.

The location was perfect for visiting Monteverde and the cloud forest. Our mountainview apartment was spacious and very private with everything we might need. The balcony provided an opportunity for bird watching and included a visit from a couple of cappucin monkeys! Highly recommend La Guayaba for couples.

Short but great stay

Arrived very late, after midnight, and the staff were there and ready for us. Offered options for tours, breakfast was great, incredibly friendly throughout, and just a nice property overall.

Comfortable cabina

Jose was extremely helpful and even pointed out some Toucans in the trees near the cabina. It was very clean. Had a nice small kitchette that we used to make some meals and of course the jacuzzi was a great way to end the day.

Our stay was relaxed. The excursions were within a half our drive. Jose and his family were very gracious and welcoming.

Very enjoyable stay

Very nice, quiet accommodation only 20mins away from La Fortuna. Kids really enjoyed the spa on balcony. Kind staff and decent breakfast. Will rebook whenever we are back in that area without a doubt. One of the highlights of the trip.
View from one of the bedrooms. Seen a lot of nice birds and could hear holler monkeys.

Excellent

Bungalow was clean and perfectly sized for our family of 5. The host family was amazing. The location was remote but we enjoyed it. Our Bungalow faced the street so it got loud at times with the motorcycles passing. Only warm water in shower with little pressure (had higher pressure but was cold). It was definitely worth the money and experience and i would stay there again. Breakfast was amazing and made to order so always hot and fresh.

In the heart of the jungle, this property is super chill & picturesque as well as 20 min from La Fortuna downtown and has parking on site. Ypull absolutly get to hear some animals safely around. We used our pool and hottub every single day and were stunned by how clean the bungalow was. This is a family owned business so you'll feel totally safe and taken care of.

10/10 Exceptional

This is a wonderful property, with the private pool being the star. We loved that this is a family owned property, and the owners are very friendly. They are also flexible with the time for breakfast and they cooked home-made traditional breakfast but also when asked for something different they were able to accommodate. The private pool in our villa was amazing, so was the jacuzzi tub. The property is located in a rural area, 20 minutes from the town of La Fortuna, but there are several grocery stores and even traditional eateries (called Sodas) around. It was also very spacious for our family of four. 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
Zuleimy, 4-night trip

6/10 Good

I know it’s not the properties fault but the motorcycles going by on the street really rev it up when they go by. Very LOUD! All times day and night! We also had a rough time with the tv. As we were not used to what they had to get English channels. But the owner was very nice and helpful. No hot water only Luke warm. So showers were very fast.
2-night trip

6/10 Good

Although the listing says this property includes an indoor pool, which is why we booked it, there was no indoor pool. Super disappointing. The is an outdoor hot tub that gets lukewarm at best despite hours letting it heat up. The bungalow itself is small - 2 bedrooms, a kitchenette with a sink, small fridge, and a few appliances, and a small bathroom where everything gets wet because of the bathroom set up (also, there is no hydromassage shower head…it’s just a small shower head with limited hot water). The daily breakfast was homemade and lovely, the beds are very comfortable, and the owners are kind and responsive, but I cannot recommend this hotel to families with kids because it’s hard to entertain kids here (no pool, no common area, no couch to lounge around in in the bungalow). Also, this property is 30 minutes from La Fortuna (*trust me, the roads here are small, and very curvy and fairly dangerous in places*) and 45 minutes to get to the hot springs and volcano areas. This doesn’t sound bad but note that the sun sets around 5 pm in December/January, so we were sometimes coming making the drive in the dark which was not ideal. Finally, note there is a rooster on (or very near) the property that often woke us up early.
