Hotel is aging and not the best upkeep. The real issue is the staff that are rude. Whilst we were there, there was renovation and drilling in front of our door from 9:30 and they created water damage in one of the common rooms downstairs so we were unable to use it. After the first day. For this they made a gesture. However, overall experience was definitely not up to standard.

There's nothing special to do in the mountain area and the morning is pretty cloudy without view, also there's no view from the room. I expected to have better aroma in the room and in the pool and lobby area. The bad was soft and comfortable, the bath kit was nice, and the breakfast was good.

Staff were nice and tried to please but service was slow. Difficult to get staff attention in the restaurant. The hotel was nice but the area was quite desolate. Very limited options for eating (1 village diner, and a couple of bars) The golf nearby was excellent and the pick up service was helpful. We didn’t have a hire car and getting around was hard. We really relied on the pick ups for the guided Levada walks

Schönes Landhotel mit Macken!

Schönes Hotel am Land, aber: Zu wenig Sitzplätze im Restaurant (als Hotelgäste konnten wir am Nachmittag für das Abendessen keinen Tisch mehr für 2 Personen reservieren), das Hallenbad hat eine schlechte bzw. gar keine Lüftung (von der Decke tropft es dauernd herunter) und zu wenige Liegen, wir hatten ein Zimmer im "Turm", das ohne Lift nur über eine halsbrecherische Stiege erreichbar war und das Hinauf- und Hinuntertragen der Koffer war eine schweißtreibende Angelegenheit (es gab auch kein Gepäckservice). Ansonsten Zimmer, Frühstück und 1 x Essen im Hotel bezüglich Preis-/Leistung in Ordnung.
