The location up the cobblestone street was fabulous and the staff was stellar. We hiked the trail before checking in and due to a miscalculation on my part with our schedule, we found ourselves not knowing where to leave our luggage. The trekking company was accommodating and brought the suitcases to the Ollantaytambo square where someone from the hotel went to pick them up and store them for us. When we arrived 2 days later at the hotel, our luggage was waiting in our room. They truly went above an beyond. The hotel is perfectly located, maybe a 3-min walk to the square and 1 block from the path to the smaller ruins. The hotel is a little dated but otherwise clean and always stocked with filtered water, hot water and a selection of teas. Breakfast was over the top - delicious, cooked on the spot and portions were generous. The gardens are beautiful and the location overall very serene. Thank you for a wonderful stay and for saving the day!

We loved our stay at Apu Lodge. The staff was very kind and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a wonderful second floor view of the archeological ruins. The hotel isn't easy to get to for someone with mobility issues but for us, it was perfect. We love walking and this property was located 1/4 mile off the main road that led to the square. Breakfast was all we needed as we are not breakfast eaters. There was a sufficient amount of fruit, bread and cereal products. Eggs were also provided. We would stay here again! It was GREAT!

We stayed at Apu Lodge for three nights before the Inca trail trek. It is a great location- Ollantaytambo has many sights and good restaurants and the staff at Apu Lodge are just wonderful. The rooms we had were very nice (family of four and teens had their own room). We had never been to Peru before and we had everything we needed at Apu Lodge to feel at home.

8/10 Very good

The rooms are pretty basic and the beds are really small. They are clean and the breakfast is fantastic. The neighborhood is quiet but the stray dogs bark a lot of the night so take ear plugs as this is the normal and most of Peru. The staff is awesome and the breakfast is fantastic. It is kind of a long abnormal half mile walk up a cobblestone path through the neighborhood to get to the property.

Apu Lodge is a dream property. Our family stayed at 5 differerent properties during our time in Peru and this was easily a favorite. The property has a beautiful garden and outside space with avocado trees, peach trees, hammocks and we even saw a giant hummingbird. The room was modest but with plenty of hot water and comfortable beds. The staff did our laundry (for so cheap) and were very friendly. The breakfast in the morning was modest my US standards but typical of what we saw throughout Peru. Fresh fruit, granola, eggs, yogurt and bread was just fine for us as we set out for exploring the area.

I had a great night at Apu Lodge. The staff was beyond helpful with my luggage in and out of the peatonal street. I felt welcome and got all the help I needed to ensure a smooth trip to the train station early morning for my trip to Machu Picchu. The street on which it’s located, it’s picturesque and charismatic and worth the walk. And the hotel is 5 minutes away from the central plaza and no more than 10 to the archeological park.

Apu Lodge was a beautiful lodge off the main square. It is a bit of a walk uphill to the quiet lodge, but a gorgeous view and property. The staff offered and did help carry baggage on the walks. The staff were helpful and provided great dinner and breakfast service. Would highly recommend this lodge if you are looking for a quiet retreat.

We loved our time at Apu Lodge! As soon as you walk through the doors you are greeted by a peaceful garden, hammocks for lounging and incredibly helpful staff. We arrived here after ten days in the rainforest and were grateful for the laundry service and hot showers. We had arranged for dinner that evening and ate breakfast here each morning. The food was delicious! On the day we visited Machu Picchu the Apu staff arranged for an early morning self-serve breakfast with yogurt, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs and delicious rolls. This was the perfect place for our group during our time in Ollantaytambo. Although it is not accessible by car, the staff helped carry our bags to and from the lodge. I will recommend Apu Lodge to anyone travelling to the Sacred Valley.
