I cannot speak on other rooms at this motel but room 15 was a mess. Stained sheets, dusty & sticky…everything. Room just clearly had not been cleaned in a long time. Staff was willing to change the sheets but they still were stained & had burn holes. There is also a $52 deposit due at check in - they will use this deposit to run your card again a hours later. Be sure to get your receipts! Overall location isn’t bad! Plenty of food, shops & pockets of community nearby. Seems like they’re doing renovations so fingers crossed for upgrades coming their way!

At one point, Rainbow Motel.may have been down, but the new owners are worki g to turn the experience around. What you get: a clean room with TV and a comfortable bed and shower. But, youre also RIGHT across from arguably one of the BEST bakeries in the country (Weber's Bakery -fresh morning sonuts and pastries), around the corner from Chicago's most popular beef sandwich (Portillo's), within a 2 minute walk of several other restaurants as well as an Aldi, Walgreens and Ace Hardware. BUT... the big perk is a stop on the Archer line out front 50' away. (also a late night bus if you do a late Chocago night) and 1.5 mins walk from the OHare (330) bus. These things made it an ideal cheap stay in a clean room for someone who flew in and out with no car for a music festival. It was SUPER easy to get around and time transit. And dont overlook that late night bus perk. That said, if this is a family vacation, do your homework, but it was an easy yes for a single or couple of adults travelling on a budget.

STARS🌟STARS🌟STARS🌟STARS🌟STARS🌟 So the reason why I say Stars five times is because it feels as if you're looking up to the Stars. These people are so kind it's like visiting a relative. Sometimes we're not satisfied with the smallest things, but they are very easily approachable to acknowledge any of your concerns. If I have one thing to say, this is a place I would love to stay! The experience is more than acceptable it was incredible.

For the price of the room, you pay for what you get. The down side to that is that: the floors were dirty, like actually needing mopped, looked like someone spilled something and it wasn’t cleaned up properly. The sheets needed to look brighter. The bathroom needed a different shower curtain. It was dirty at the bottom. I wish I had taken pictures. I would’ve included them with this review.

Better than sleeping on the street. While I was staying there at first I was thinking to write an all bad review because of the stink, stained bedsheets, damaged doors, walls, disgusting bathroom and human hairs found everywhere. The old in room air-conditioning unit was very loud and old, so I've turned it off and kept it off the whole stay because of the noise, the fact that it was 2 feet from my head, blowing air directly in my face and because it looked like it hasn't been professionally disinfected or even cleaned in years. Worse I did not feel safe there. Then I reconsidered. The price of 90 USD per night in south Chicago in mid September was still cheaper than the majority of options available (with real established hotel chains often asking for 800+ USD per night). And despite a horrible first impression of being given a room the reeked of smoke (despite advertising as a smoke free establishment) the staff did what they could, and up on request I got another room that was at least aired out or ozone cleaned (based on the smell there). Also, though they charged 104 USD for the safety deposit and gave back only 100. At least they gave it back, which meant that I did not need to go to the police to get my money back, saving some time. SUM: you get what you pay for. Lowest price, with low quality. I can only recommend it to strong men who do not care about hygiene and are traveling on a tight budget. It is better than sleeping on the street.

My husband and I stayed at this property for roughly about a week. Primarily we booked this property because our home unfortunately ran into some sewage issues so we decided that we would stay at the Rainbow Motel while the problem was being rectified. In addition, I am also a respectable blogger specializing in producing articles mainly focusing on hotels/motels/airbnbs/bed&breakfasts etc ... you get the point 😉. Surprisingly within just a few days I gained thousands of reactions for this business including future bookings just off the narratives in my blog in regards to the Rainbow Motel. The first few days seemed to go by without any issues but long story short things started to grow tense between staff and ourselves. Unbeknownst to us staff had compromised and fraudulently charged thousands of dollars on our credit card online ignorantly not realizing that it might not be so smart to pay their bills with it, maybe should have stuck with the online shopping. We were extremely respectful from the moment that we gained access to this establishment including very generous tips to staff just after our arrival. I would recommend not using your credit card here, if you book i would use cash. At your own risk! Thanks.
