Our experience was amazing. We stopped for one night on our outward journey and two on our return. Staff were ultra helpful in terms of accommodating us in extreme heat and making our stay as comfortable as possible. Lovely indoor restaurant and pretty courtyard for outdoor breakfast. Rustic charm in beautiful village of Villandry

We had visited Villandry last year during our holiday in The Loire and decided to stay overnight on our way to The Dordogne this year. The Columbien is located in centre of village and a short walk to chateau and gardens (definitely worth a visit). Hotel is a bit like a 'rabbit warren'. Rooms are adequate but no air con only fans. We dined off the a la carte menu and food was very good. Staff attentive and very pleasant. Hotel also has a brasserie offering quicker bites. There is no parking on site but public car park opposite is free. Overall, a decent hotel, just needs a bit of an update.

A true Auberge....

We upgraded ourselves to a family corner room, warm night but the fans did their job. Very nice restaurant, excellent service. We happened to be there when France won a match, so 5 cars passed by with cheerful sounding! Just fun.
