The property may have been 4* a couple of decades ago, but it is no longer. Sheets were dirty. Mold in the shower and bathroom grout. Mold on the balcony walls. Silverfish bugs. Terrible cleaning practices.
Got food poisoning from buffet fish that was clearly not warm enough after taking a bite.
The restaurants have ridiculous hours and the main eating areas are more like high school cafeterias than a 4* dining experience. Even the “specialty” restaurants (if you can get in with the stupid bloody website they use) have this cafeteria vibe. If you miss breakfast (which closes at like 9:30am) you’re screwed for food until lunch, because there is no other facility for food or snacks, unless you’re lucky enough to find a bar with some pretzels, which only happened once in our 5 days there.
The drinks are handed out in ridiculously small single-use disposable plastic cups which are generating huge amounts of preventable waste, but to their credit the drinks are full-strength. But hey, we are encouraged by signs everywhere to “think green” by not taking too much food and reusing our towels!! The hypocrisy is unbelievable.
The common areas and hallways around the rooms are dirty and haven’t seen a mop in years.
The whole resort is dilapidated and in need of a major renovation, but the landscaping is pretty, and the view of the bay is incredible. Not enough to get us to come back though.
I could go on but I’ve hit my character limit.
