Very basic room. No frills. Location was fine for what we needed. There is a restaurant 3 min away. Access to room is with a code that was provided via email. We did not have breakfast. Never saw any staff.

The pension is conveniently located for exploration of the area by car. My room was clean and the property is well maintained. The reception desk representative is not present in the building. You have to communicate with them via SMS, email, WhatsApp. This involves check in and check out. Upon my arrival I had to send them a photo of my national ID to receive a PIN for opening the entrance door and my room.

The room is clean, modern, and big enough. The free parking is appreciated. The location well outside of Hallstatt requires a car but also makes it fairly affordable for this highly visited area. The biggest problem for us is that while the Hotels.com listing says: Popular amenities Continental breakfast (surcharge) each morning 8:00 AM–9:30 AM … there was NO breakfast and no open door to what presumably is the breakfast room. There was a hot water maker outside the closed room but not even any coffee pods to make or buy. In booking the room for 2 nights, I was never asked if I wanted to add breakfast. When I texted the offsite owner/manager on morning 1, I was told, “Breakfast is not included in your booking.” I replied Oh! That’s disappointing. The listing on Hotels.com says it’s available. Owner texted unhelpfully “Please contact Hotel.com” No offer of making it available for morning 2. Just a mention of a nearby cafe, but no special arrangement or discount offer there. Caveat emptor.
