Comfortable stay in the friendliest hotel
Excellent stay. The reception desk and staff at bar was very friendly. I had my hot chocolate during aurora show with me and it hot cold, the girl at bar happily warmed it up for me. They provide wake up calls for aurora viewing. The rooms have a view. We could see aurora without being in the cold. Super happy with the stay.

Lovely hotel — the room was clean and spacious with a nice view, and dinner at the hotel restaurant was excellent. A perfect location to stay on our way to Vatnajökull National Park.

6/10 Good

Staff were rude and room was tiny and dirty. There was missing baseboard, pedals for the trash were broken and there was a good inch of dust/dirt on the exhaust fan in the bathroom. The room was ungodly humid and all of our clothing felt damp. Restaurant staff was friendly and helpful. When we checked out, the gentleman at the front desk argued with us that we needed to pay our dinner bill. We had to show him the receipt that we did. Turns out he wasn’t even looking at our room which we handed him the keys (labeled with the number) and told him twice what room number we were. When he realized we had paid and it was the wrong room he entered he didn’t offer an apology. He made us feel like a criminal for no reason. Wouldn’t recommend. It was also VERY expensive for the food we ordered. $102 for an app, 2 cheeseburgers and a kids meal.

2/10 Poor

Not worth it
The door to our patio was broken and couldnt use it which was super frustrating. The bathroom felt like a prison - lighting was extremely bright and the shower was gnarly. Super overpriced for what you get but not many other options in the area…

Check in was great. Our shower did not adjust ao rainhead was the only option. The restaurant staff was not kind or welcoming. Worst of all we waited over 30 minutes to hace one of thebstaff notice they had forgotten our table and the couples table next to us as well. When they finally did come over to take our order she was rushing amd rude. The cost is a bit much but the food did taste good amd portion size was good too.

Property with the view of mountains and glacier. There are no restaurants close-by so the cost of dining is bit expensive. Overall experience is excellent.

This was the most expensive 1night stay during our 2 week vacation around Iceland. It was probably the least accommodating and we were not impressed with the rooms. We stayed here towards the end of the trip, so we knew what to expect with “Europe style rooms”. Convenient location and two restaurants inside.

Hotel is very remote which makes it a neat experience. Feedback for the management would only be that the rooms are tired. Drywall patches, cords having everywhere, sheets felt pilled. Staff were lovely and the food was great, but again I think the rooms are ready for a refresh.

Room was clean, but a little beat up with wall patches. Small deck attached to the room. Nice bathroom. Dinner options good and a good breakfast.
