Sooooo...buyer beware. The Hayward is a nice hotel and I've stayed there a number of times however THIS time, both the gentleman who checked in before me and me were relegated to the "Hayward" building which is the oldest section of the hotel (there are three buildings) in the very back of the property. We were told this was the case because we got a "cheaper" rate through Expedia (Hotels.com) and therefore could not stay in the nice, new building at the front of the property. This most likely violates the agreement with Expedia but didnt help me any (or the guy ahead of me) in getting a nicer room because they refused to move us, and of course at this point Expedia would not refund the room. What really dissapointed me is the parking is limited in the far back while most of the front lot was empty (supporting the fact that there were plenty of rooms in the nice section and when pressed, the "asst desk mgr" confirmed.) I'll stay there again but wont stay in the back buildings.

Excellant customer service. Room was clean. Beds were super comfy.Very clean restroom.Pool was open.Very chilly water! But we took a swim then a hot shower. Check in was quick. Staff was friendly and welcomed us.We will visit Hayward Inn again.

Hotel was clean and modern. It was a bar with lite snacks. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable. The only drawback was you could hear the traffic. Left early so didn’t get to eat breakfast.
