It was ok, old and out dated, food was disappointing
Great spot, pleasent room. Staff could have made more effort to be friendlier. Got the impression they are over dealing with tourists. Which is a shame because I am a local.
-Bed was comfy but no spare pillow -Place overall was very old and run down. A local told me over covid it deteriorated a lot and because of remote management from China repairs were not done at all. -No fresh water which means you couldn't drink out of the tap, toilet water was brown and disgusting and shower water brown -Internet extremely slow 0.65Mb/s after 10pm not working at all -Room was dusty and some flying bugs inside (I have pics) spiderwebs were directly above bed on ceiling which was just scary -Very poor service and reception was only open till 1pm and even then you have to wait long time as its unattended and the attendant is working in the bar nearby -Toilets didn't function the best and paper didn't flush down toilet and kept coming up. -Shower tap was also falling off and the handle fell out, and there were rust holes in the bottom of the bath
Rooms themselves were very good with wonderful views but grounds very much in need of maintenance and pub/restaurant looking run down and in need of attention. Exterior great, interior starting to look shabby and service and food marginal. Needs to have a facelift all around. Fantastic potential if owners put some money into it.
It was a very welcoming and comfortable stay with an amazing view. I would stay there again. Staff were great. Warning: There is no portable water in the rooms. It from dam and runs brown. Reception is very happy to give you bottled water however it kind of defeats the idea of being eco-friendly if you need to give your guests lots of plastic water bottles to brush their teeth and have a cuppa! I am not particularly precious about showering in brown water but it might not be to others tastes. Honestly I would have no issue staying there again BUT I would be packing a 10L H2O in the car for my stay which I would get in Sorrell before heading down to the area.
Came to visit Port Arthur, ruins and Lavender farm. Liked our stay at fox and hounds. Clean good price and good food.
Such a peaceful location. Our room had views out to the bay. Meals were good and the staff friendly and accommodating. Would stay again.
Restaurant was fantastic. Accommodation is tired and not to the rating provided.
