Stroll along the palm-lined corniche with turquoise Gulf of Oman views before catching a performance at the striking Royal Opera House. High-end hotels with manicured gardens create an atmosphere of exclusive tranquility, while upscale shopping centers cater to those with refined tastes. The pristine beaches invite you to relax in style. Dining options showcase international cuisine at sophisticated restaurants where reservations are recommended. Getting around is easy with abundant taxi services, though the corniche area is perfectly walkable. Luxury accommodation dominate the landscape, offering exceptional service and amenities that match the neighborhood's prestigious reputation.

Getting around is easiest on foot, especially in the pedestrian-friendly souq area. Boutique heritage hotels and guesthouses provide authentic accommodation options with classic Arabian architectural details.

South Asian influence flavours the district, from spicy curb-side samosas to glittering gold shops in the traditional souq. The Sultan's Armed Forces Museum offers cultural insights between shopping sprees, while glass-fronted towers showcase the neighborhood's business backbone. Curry houses and tea stalls welcome hungry visitors with wallet-friendly meals that showcase authentic Pakistani biryanis and Indian spices. Hotels cater primarily to business travellers with practical comforts rather than luxury frills. Frequent buses and abundant taxis make exploring easy, connecting you to Qurum beaches just a short ride away.

Al-Bustan

Al-Bustan's stunning coastline creates a dreamy retreat between the dramatic Hajar Mountains and turquoise Gulf of Oman waters. The area revolves around the magnificent Al Bustan Palace with its distinctive golden dome and lush gardens. Upscale hotel restaurants serve international cuisine and authentic Omani specialities in elegant settings. Most travellers stay at luxury accommodation with marble interiors and exceptional amenities. Radisson Collection Muscat, Hormuz Grand

Radisson Collection Muscat, Hormuz Grand

6/10 Okay
"Stayed in a junior suite which was a nice size but the furniture and curtains were all very stained and dirty to the point they should be replaced. The floor hadn't been cleaned properly either and there were liquid stains on the walls. Bed was very uncomfortable, unless you like an extremely firm mattress. Staff were friendly and helpful"

Mövenpick Hotel And Hotel Apartments Ghala Muscat

10/10 Excellent
"I stayed in a Junior Suite, which was nicely spacious with strong, cool AC and plenty of modern gadgets throughout — this is a very new, very modern property and it shows. The staff deserve a particular mention. Incredibly friendly and accommodating — they kindly offered me a very late checkout given the hotel was quiet due to the current regional situation, and knowing I had a late flight. That kind of thoughtfulness makes a real difference, and I’m genuinely grateful. The facilities look impressive: there’s a spa and a rooftop pool, though I didn’t get to use them on this visit. The food is also worth highlighting — really good, even though I only experienced it through room service rather than dining in the restaurant. Location-wise, it’s in a commercial district rather than a scenic or tourist-friendly area, so it’s not one for a leisure holiday. But in terms of value for money, quality of the room, and standard of service, it punches well above its weight. Highly recommended."
