Maison Bistro & Hotel

Stayed in Petite Maison Deluxe Double room for 4 nights, which is second Maison building about 20m from the main building with its own cafe for breakfast. Pro: - very clean room with comfortable king bed. - free mini bar refill (although you had to remind staff for it) which is very useful for packing water/ pop for walk around town. - friendly staff. I had interesting conversation with Adam, who manages the petite cafe and learned quite a few things about Budapest local living. - great air conditioning. - located in beautiful Buda castle district. It is dead quite in the evening and quite lovely to stroll around the neighbourhood after sunset. - continental breakfast with somewhat limited options, but pastries and coffees were delicious. Con: - for some reason, my apple products had compatibility problem with wifi. Other mobile devices (Samsung and HP) worked fine with their WIFI. Issue was resolved 2 days after request. - getting to the location requires taking bus (bus 16. Every 5 to 6 minutes day time) from Pest side. If you have large luggages, I do not recommend walking and lugging that through steep stairways and uphills to top of Buda hill when you are checking in to the hotel.

Lovely bistro hotel where the staff are very friendly and helpful. It is situated in the castle area which is clean, safe and very scenic. Despite being a good distance from the city centre this does not cause undue issues in that the number 16 bus runs frequently and for a small fair it is just a case of a 2 minute walk to the bus stop. The room and hotel was very clean and provides very good value for the money that it is. The free in room mini-bar/refrigerator is a wonderful addition certainly in summer. The in room safe is also a nice to have. Breakfast has a good variety and would cater for most. The room and hotel provide for a comfortable and enjoyable stay with free wi-fi also. Would highly recommend for couples of any age and small families.

A perfect stay following a Viking Cruise. Enjoyed our dinner at your restaurant so much the first night that we repeated the same dishes the second night. It was nice to have a quiet meal and environment following the cruise. Breakfast was excellent with nice options with eggs and breakfast quesadillas. We had an early flight out after a couple days and they were kind enough to make us a breakfast to go bag. Rooms were nice; quiet; with very comfortable beds and very clean. Only negative was that their taxi service that they have a agreement with charged us twice the amount that other taxis charged from the property. The property’s close proximity to the castle district allowed us to visit the sites in the morning and evening hours when the crowds are not there.

This is a new hotel, opened in December 2016. Everything is new and of high quality. I got a great rate, but can see that rates are going up now that the hotel is established and has received some good reviews. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Rooms are luxurious – not huge – but very well-equipped. The (non-alcoholic) mini-bar is free. There is free wireless – but it wasn’t great in my room – I used the Ethernet cable plugged into the room phone, and that worked well. The breakfast is amazing – fresh pastries, freshly squeezed juice plus a hot selection cooked on-demand. The location is great – situated in the castle hill area. My only qualm was that the curtains didn’t keep out the very bright lights that stayed on all night in the courtyard. All in all, an excellent boutique hotel, and thoroughly recommended!

Maison Bistro & Hotel has some of the best and kindest staff we have ever encountered. The food was excellent (we tried breakfast, lunch, and dessert), the room was great with heated bathroom floors, a comfortably sized bathtub, and the bed was comfortable! Our only complaint is that the room was boiling hot in the middle of the night and we often woke up in a sweat, even with the window open (around -2 Celsius outside). We are not sure if it was that the sensor in the room's heater was broken and could not be turned off as we had hit the switch or that the building's heating system was just too high for our taste. Anyways, it did not ruin our stay and we will definitely stay here again whenever we return to Budapest.
