They tried to steal our deposit! Pretty but shady
Ancol mansion is beautiful. The pool is beautiful and the view is beautiful. However the room that is given on this listing is not. There were 3 dead bugs in between the sheets and a lot of lint. The bathroom has a strange scent and mold in corners but they hung air fresheners. It’s cheap so you get what you pay for. I’m not sure if we got a bad agent assigned to us by the company or if this is how travelio runs it’s business but ugh!!! The agent left us waiting in the lobby for an hour. Led us to our room. Didn’t explain ANYTHING. Gave us our “free WiFi” which was a WiFi egg that had 1G for three days split between the three of us. We were given instructions on the back on how to reload the WiFi egg so just beware that it doesn’t really come with “free WiFi”. We also wanted to use the gym because it’s also included in the listing but when we got there we were told that we had to have registered with management to use the nice gym. These were all okay, I guess they could be due to misunderstandings. HOWEVER our agent who did not tell us about all these things about the property did manage to tell us to leave the key and WiFi egg in the room (which would have locked us out of the building) and didn’t answer our calls for check out and to get our deposit back. We had the front desk call him and all he asked was if we had the keys. A new man came an hour later gave us the deposit and apologized to us and took the keys. So keep the keys if you want your deposit back.
