Wonderful

It’s a great hotel with parking in the centre of a small village. The owner was really nice and we had a great time.

Friendly host

Last minute stay in Wymondham. Friendly host, who can tell yiu tbecbest places to eat and drink. Onsite Thai restaurant is good and excellent value. No breakfast but some healthy goodies in the room. Would definately stay again if in the area.

6/10 Good

For one night it was fine. Not sure we would stay longer though. Host was lovely and fresh milk in the fridge was appreciated. But it was very hot with no airflow.

Welcoming characterful hotel

Nice welcome comfortable room. Good range of refreshments however no herbal/hot choc/ for bedtime. Lovely little gift of Christmas biscuits. Its a old building with the things that come with older buildings like a delay in hot water getting to taps. If too impatient to wait then book elsewhere. Yes the bathroom suit is tired but its clean and serviceable. We will return.

Not very impressed

The room was dated and cold, the heating didn't come on until about 07.00
David, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

A Big Disappointment

It feels like a place that has been set up for some other purpose. Noisy footfall all evening. Grim concierge. A no pets policy (they call dogs 'pets') which is not made clear until arrival. Much of the premises is a Thai Restaurant - many disgruntled customers coming out of that flooded the entrance hall.
Jill, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

think twice

Booked 2 doubles, got 1 double and one single - no refund offered, one room tv broken, took 2 days to fix, other door lock didn't work, so couldn't lock the room. Only way to contact someone was via a phone number, no active desk.
Graham, 5-night trip

2/10 Poor

Rubbish.

Absolute rubbish. No breakfast even though a restaurant was advertised. The room was a furnace with no air conditioning. The re was no lift which made access to the room on the top floor difficult with heavy bags and no service. The room was barely clean enough in a shabby un-looked after hotel. The fabric of the building was poor.

Tired hotel but Good Location, Price and Service

I was racing at Snetterton so chose this hotel again. I have stayed at this hotel before (last season). On arrival the reception was unmanned – I had to call the number on the door. Lady soon arrived and showed me to my room. She was very welcoming. The lock is a code door lock, but a key for the hotel front door is provided as it is locked later in the evening then unlocked in the morning. The room had no view – it looked over the Thai restaurant kitchen, where the extractor fan was running most of the evening. It was ok, though. The Thai restaurant downstairs appears to be popular. Theer aare two pubs nearby - one across the road and one along the road. Pub burgers etc available. The hotel and room itself was quite dated, but it is fine – and is reasonably priced. There is a long wait for hot water to come through the shower – maybe as it hadn’t been used for a while? Tea and coffee are provided with kettle in the room. And a oat snack bar and 500ml bottle of water too. Usual question – would I stay there again? The answer is Yes. I’ll probably be back there again next season.
View up street from hotel.

Booked a kingsize room and got a double. Paid half of price for room as deposit but had to pay full price of room on arrival on Saturday!!!!

All good here.

An old-fashioned hotel in an old building but there's nothing wrong with that - it has character, unlike a lot of modern anodyne ones. Service was exceptional: accommodating and friendly. It is located dead in the centre of the old town and is ideally placed for exploring it (and for staggering back from the pubs!). It also has a well regarded Thai restaurant on the ground floor, so no need to go far if you don't want to. There is free parking at the back. I would certainly stay again if I was in the area.

Central hotel

Overnight stay, the accommodation was clean and comfortable. Disappointed to find that the hotel had charged my credit card as well as hotels.com having already taken full payment, which I now need to get resolved. Unnecessary hassle.

Good Location at Reasonable Price

We were at Snetterton race track for three days. The hotel is just 15 mins from the track, I have stayed here at the Townhouse hotel previously and will always come back. OK - The hotel is a little tired but there’s a comfy bed and a pub across the road. That’s what matters. Parking is in a public car park adjacent to the hotel. It’s a quiet village. There are four pubs in the village. One is opposite the hotel. The rooms are fairly dated and the hot water comes through after a minute or three. But the rooms are comfy and there’s a friendly welcome. There is a Thai restaurant in the hotel that is independently run. I haven’t tried it but it looks quite busy. The race track is about 9 miles away, back along the A11. Usual question - would I return? It’s a big Yes.

2/10 Poor

The room itself was clean, however the cups were dirty as were the spoons. We were given a pint of milk (no fridge) as there were no small UHT milks available. The curtains were not lined and as our room was overlooking the main street, there was a flashing neon sign (Specsavers) on all night, sleeping was disturbed. The main problem in the morning was that the shower water was less than tepid and did not heat up even when left on for some time. All in all, a disappointing stay. Would not recommend.
