Ok

Nobody on site at check in, phoned number and got instructions. Building is tired and not very comfy.

2/10 Poor

The hotel was dirty, dirty marks everywhere, carpets didn’t look clean. Room mirror was filthy. The towels in my hotel room were very damp. The Wi-Fi never works and the bed was really uncomfortable. It is a cheap stay but it still falls way short basic requirements. There was no one on front desk either to help with anything, it’s very strange.

Overnight stay

Room comfortable, unfortunately the room key did not have the entrance key attached which required assisted admission on return to the Hotel. The bathroom extractor fan worked but no light. Also no reading lamp available.

The presentation was poor. The booking was an emergency family member in intensive care. The presentation was so bad I did not stay.

Old and smelly, not for me

Budget hotel, you get what you paid for. Not for me, I’d rather pay a little more to be comfortable. Old and smelly!

Far from ideal!

When I arrived at the hotel, the outside looked rundown and unwelcoming. I waited until almost 2pm and rang the front doorbell, but no one answered, so I went for a short walk and returned to try the doorbell again. There was still no reply when I rang the doorbell, so I rang a phone number posted on the front door and left a message on an answer machine. I went for another short walk and on my return I was greeted by a member of the hotel staff. I was asked to pay the fee for my stay, but when I offered my debit card, was told that the hotel would only accept cash, so I then had to find a cash machine. I was given a choice of 2 rooms. The first was large and had a bathroom along a hallway, but had no tv. The second room was small, but had a tv and a shower room which had no curtains or door, which resulted in light and noise seeping into the bedroom. The hall up to the bedroom and the bedroom itself smelt musty. The mattress seemed thin and was uncomfortable, but I was so tired I did manage to sleep, only to be woken early by the noise of traffic on the road outside and light coming into the bedroom from the shower room window. There was a kettle, cup and tea, coffee etc but no teaspoon. There was no tv remote, so I had to go downstairs to the reception area to ask for one. There was a part toilet roll on the holder, used soap in a container in the shower cubicle and water left in the kettle. Dirty marks and dust on carpet & surfaces.

No a superior double room at all , there was mould and water marks in the walls , only one cup , small bed , shower was like a closet , window was locked shut without the key available , the sink constantly dripped

My stay at this hotel was the worst stay I have ever had to endure. The room was freezing cold, no heating. I had people trying to come in my room every single night, rattling the handles. Some of which I believe were customers trying to figure out which room they were in. I spoke to a man on my last night here who said the woman on the phone asked him to “try room 2” which was infact my room, I was staying in. People have to call a number and use a key to get in, to then walk themselves to their room where they find a key. Staff are quiet if in the building which they hardly were. However circling back to my door, my last night I had called my mum who got a three hour bus journey to Norwich, to come and stay with me because I felt unsafe (I’m a 19 year old YF), she witnessed someone rattling the handle and trying to get in, only this person stayed standing outside the door for a really long while. She heard no talking. This while stay was dodgy, unwelcoming, scary and overall, not recommended for anyone.

Do not stay here

This was one of the worst hotels in which I have stayed in recent years. The room was dirty, there was no television, no WiFi, no chair, nowhere to put clothes that could not be hung on hangers. The only way to turn the light on or off was the switch by the door. Very poor sound insulation as well, with the hotel on a main road. No staff on site, check in by mobile phone, no person to speak to once inside. I will never consider staying here again.

Avoid this hotel

Check in was via a mobile number on a hand written note taped to the front door. A code for an external key safe was given, which enabled me to unlock the front door. My room key was behind an unmanned desk and I was directed to my room by the same mobile telephone conversation. Different! The bathroom had a shower, but the switch was outside was difficult to reach for anyone under 5'9". There was no shower gel and the toilet roll was almost empty. There was a cup holder for tooth brush, but no cup. There were two towels, a bath towel and a hand towel that was as rough as sandpaper. The "wardrobe" was a pole consisting of three coat hangers and a trouser hanger. The woodwork was shabby and dirty. The bed was made, but the room wasn't in a state for occupation. On the second night, of a two night stay, the fire alarm was activated, and as I and the other guests assembled outside a gentleman who may have been the owner attempted to reset the alarm. Conversations with the other guests confirmed that a number of them were less than complementary about the quality of the rooms and service provided. This hotel is being operated at arms length. There does not appear to be an adequate number of staff to run a hotel effectively. I will never use this hotel again and would advise others to steer clear of this establishment.

Poor customer service

Didnt see a single member of staff. Front door was locked upon arrival, rung the doorbell, tried the two different numbers on the door and the one on their website, no answer. 10 minutes another guest let us in the door as they left. A list of names and room numbers were scribbled on a piece of paper on reception. We took ourselves to our room which was unlocked with the key inside. Room was VERY basic, dated and in need of some TLC. A lady returned my call about 15 minutes later, the person on the other end of the phone answered with "yes"... I said pardon, she said "yes". It was only because i recongnised the number that I said we were tryung to check in but someone else let us in and weve found our room. She aort of apologised and sais she was in the shower... During check in hours? On checkout we left the keys in the box on the reception guest, again no one was about.

I appear to have been scammed

This is not a hotel. Upon arrival there was nobody present just a phone number on a locked door. The woman who answered my phone call claimed no knowledge of my name nor my hotels.com booking reference (even though hotels.com had collected payment and issued a booking reference). I had to book/pay for a different hotel. Hotels.com offer no means to address this fraud. It appears to be a scam.

The net curtains looked like a cat had been climbing through them the towel felt like a piece of card .the wall had a lovely stain too. It took forever to gain access I had to make about 15 calls before I eventually got through. Then when I finally got in the internet was not working properly and I got no apology just told must be the weather???? It was not windy or rainy not even that cold to be honest I'd not bother again this isn't budget it's a mess the bedding was clean but quietly paper thin I'd give it A big miss there are better places at a better price
