Resort was nice looking in lobby , once you get to room, not well taken care of toilet seats werent the proper size absolutely filled with mosquitos, beds were missing legs. The food was awful except for the jerk chicken stand by the pool. The crew and staff were helpful and nice but i can only assume that other resorts were much better maintained and cared for. We spent most of our time at the hard rock hotel because we werent able to fully enjoy ourselves at Riu Republica. I would not be visiting again or referring anyone.

Fun hotel, but not quiet and AC not the greatest.

Our stay was a week. The noise level was unacceptable at all hours of the night. The air conditioning worked but didn’t work well. We had mold in our bathroom above the door and around it from the humidity I assume. Room service did a great job cleaning the general area and making the beds, but the mold was always there.

A Fun experience

Despite some bad reviews I've seen, I found the resort to be a lot of fun, super big and has a lot of entertainment. There is also food for all tastes and quite a variety, the employees in all areas are very friendly and especially those in the buffet area La Altagracia and the Jerk Chicken that is near the beach is the best I have tried in years.

Hotel Rio Republica in Punta Cana was disappointing due to unresponsive staff and dirty facilities. Water was frequently shut off, and there was no warm water. Despite requests, the refrigerator was not restocked with water or soda. I cannot recommend this property, and it should be removed from the Riu chain.

I did not like how the bar pool looked. One had marble off the whole side and the other bar pool water was dirty with bugs, cigarettes, and cloudy film. The room could be cleaner too. The safe wasn’t working.

This adults oily resort is laid out perfectly for everyone. Busy and active in some areas and calm and quiet in others. Been coming since they opened. Great pools and beach as well!

The hotel was just average. The rooms were basic, but clean. The TV was leaning and had a line through it and was grainy. One elevator didn’t work on my side the entire visit. Upon check in, we were asked to download the Riu app. I did and it was very useful, until it wasn’t. We wanted to have dinner at the steakhouse. The app clearly said reservations weren’t required. When we got there we were told you had to put your name on a list. When I went to the front desk about it the manager, Juan Brito (I think was his last name) was rude, and when I asked his name he marched up on me, nose to nose and said welcome to the Dominican Republic. I can guarantee if I were a man he wouldn’t have done that. The food was edible, not great. There were plenty of activities on the property. In all, I wouldn’t go back.

El trato del front desk fue terrible. Llamé en varias ocasiones porque el aire acondicionado no funcionaba, no tenía servicio de agua caliente y el agua de la ducha salía con mal olor. No me respondían o decían que iban a enviar a alguien y nunca llegaba. También reportaba el problema por la aplicación y marcaban como que lo había resuelto cuando en realidad no era así. En adición, todas las noches había un olor fuerte a quemado afuera por lo que no se podía estar en el balcón. De verdad no recomiendo este hotel para nada.

They did have a lot of parties but what they don’t tell you is they bus you different hotels for events and the line to get on the bus was 2 hours long then they stopped running bus. There is no place to get food after 10 pm the sports bar had raw hots and tortilla chips nothing else no vending machines NO ROOM SERVICE.. They people (workers) are very very nice but only a few speak English. Felipe was my favorite super cool nice guy.. They have no wash cloths bring your own..

The food here is the worst. The staff and the location of the hotel is the only good part of this place. The beach is very beautiful. The place is so badly managed and is not clean at all. There was peoples throw up on the ground for days and even blood on the ground for days. This was my second time at this property and it definitely has declined since the first time.

Pésima estancia en este hotel, todo era sucio, restaurantes que no necesitaban reserva según la app, nos pedían reserva para cenar, el personas muy poco cordial y displicente, por otro lado se nos fue el agua dos días y el resto de los días la presión del agua era muy baja, el aire acondicionado no se puede manipular así que si tienes calor te tienes que aguantar, nunca nos llenaron el minibar de la habitación y los empleados son realmente groseros

Could be alot more clean and more properly working things. Phone didn’t work, food was repeative and constantly sent us to the bathroom. Not great options cause u don't know what will send you to the rest room. Could use a bit more diversity
