Cottage Lea’s Hotel.

So we booked up on Hotels.com on a good deal. We had never used this website before we were pleased how easy it was to book this hotel. Cottage Lea’s is place alone from any other buildings. At reception we was met and all was explained about the hotel facilities, our room was clean and well kept and comfortables. So with further to do we will be returning for another visit.

2 night stay

Fantastic hotel a couple of miles out of Pickering. Very friendly host and staff, I couldn't fault it, other than there was no draught ale due to supply problems. The food both at breakfast and dinner was excellent.

We stayed one night at Leas Cottage which was a pleasant surprise not know what to expect. The staff warm and welcoming and the ambience in the bar/lounge area cosy and Luke home from home. Good home cooked food and breakfast. We had smaller size bedroom it was clean warm with all facilities. We would stay again.

Perfect for a relaxing stay with amazing food

We had an absolutely fabulous one night stay at the Cottage Lea's Country Hotel. The location is perfect - secluded and quiet, with beautiful scenery and delightful, well maintained gardens which had plenty of comfortable outdoor seating, as well as relaxing seating in the lounge area. Our room was spotlessly clean, cosy and comfortable - the bed made it difficult to get out of! Becky and Lottie were absolutely perfect hosts - friendly and helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. We booked dinner, and so glad we did - it was honestly one of the best meals we have ever eaten - from the black pudding stack and garlic creamy mushrooms (OMG!!!) to the crunchiest, butteriest crumble I've ever had in my life, made with apples from their own tree..... I would absolutely have no hesitation in recommending the hotel to anyone, and would highly recommend dining there too. Thank you so much!

Nice stay in the Countryside

Nice stay , however not my type of hotel. Room with a Velux window and sloped ceilings . Nice enough decorated and clean but walls are thin !!!!. Good sleep so can't complain . Food was nice at both evening meal and breakfast and staff were very friendly. Off the main drag and up a single track road .

Idyllic

I booked two twin rooms for two nights as we were golfing in the area. While I was initially concerned that the rest of the group would be annoyed with me that we weren't in the town centre, as soon as we checked in after our first round we knew we had made a great choice. The site is incredible and the view is fab - the outdoor spaces were very nice and we felt lucky we had hit on with the weather. Rooms are quite standard but just what we needed, shower and toilet very modern and clean. The bar has a great range of beers and the 'Yorkshire Cider' is well worth a few pints if you like a summer drink. The restaurant is clean and welcoming, the menu choice is fantastic and very very good value [I'd recommend the salmon] and breakfast was tasty and clearly all local produce. The team at the hotel clearly put lots of effort in to make sure your stay is good. We'll be back with a bigger golf group of 8 next year as it ticked every box

Wish we could stay longer

This is only a three star hotel, because of the way star ratings are given. It does not have a night porter or room service etc. etc. But if stars were awarded on one's actual experience and needs, this would certainly be a five star establishment. The setting is at the end of a long single track road and so is very peaceful. The rooms are in a modern block, comfortable and well equipped. Reception from the owner was first class, friendly and helpful. When it came to drinks in the garden in the late afternoon, pre prandial aperitifs and an excellent dinner nothing was too much trouble. It is very much a family hotel, the hotel cat greeted us nicely and the ancient jack russell kept a careful watch from the lounge. The two sisters who run it are so friendly and chatty we felt immediately at home. It was disappointing only to be staying for one night.

I was traveling to the area alone and had chosen to stay here. I was greeted by a very friendly lady who I later discovered was the owner. The room was very clean a pretty with everything you needed. That evening I had a drink in the bar and the owners were so friendly and welcoming offering any assistance I may need. The breakfast was delicious and while I didn’t eat a meal there the menu looked great and very varied. I would definitely stay there again if I am in the area.

8/10 Very good

We had a clean cosy room with a comfortable bed and pillows with Coffee, Tea and biscuits on a Tray in the room. The hotel is on farmland, the room was very quiet at night with an owl hooting early morning. The breakfasts were very good with cereals, juices, yoghurts and pastries to choose from, followed by a good cooked English breakfast. Becky was very helpful and made all guests feel welcome. Friendly family pets are often in the Bar.
