A great find, close to the airport

Brief overnight stay before a holiday, brilliant location, staff were amazing and the food was excellent, will definitely repeat and hopefully have more time on it next visit.

Amazing!

Amazing place to stay with history and cozy English cottage ambiance. Great friendly staff, beautiful linens in rooms, not huge so never overrun, in a quiet area about 12 min taxi from Gatwick airport. Absolutely wonderful food options and portions. Can’t stress these awesome things enough! Wish I could stay there!

8/10 Very good

The staff were very friendly and the room was beautiful but it was on the same level and overlooked the beer garden, so I think that this could be a problem in the summer. It also had an interconnecting door, which meant I could hear my noisy neighbours very clearly!

The staff were very friendly and the property was very clean, the food was excellent, we had to leave before breakfast so the chef packed an awesome continental breakfast for us. 5 stars

2/10 Poor

Need a good place close to Gatwick Airport? This traditional pub-hotel was terrific, with some notable caveats. Although our reservation was made months in advance, we somehow got stuck with a an adjoining building attic room (no alternative was available), up a steep flight of steps, not ideal for the elderly. Luckily, the weather was not excessively hot; a fan was not provided. Although the room was small, it was modern and comfortable, with plush carpeting and a king-size bed. A large LED TV was mounted on a side wall, making bedside viewing awkward. The large walk-in rain shower was nice, but the controls were a bit enigmatic. Unlike many English lodgings, various and convenient USB charging was available. We enjoyed the cozy ambiance of the pub, a few beers and a local English cheese plate. The staff were cheerful, friendly and inviting.

Required accommodation with our dog, for Gatwick Airport. Fulfilled all our needs. The room was ideal with access to the spacious garden.Very good parking with easy access to our room. The beer garden was a bonus, very quiet when we were there. Had an evening meal which was very good. The staff were exceptional, very friendly.

Great room, had pie for my evening meal n it was the best I have ever had, chef Rod, makes on site. Nice drinks n sound breakfast but served from 8.

6/10 Good

Probably should not be open Sunday night for hotel as bar closes at 6 and no food after 4 which was a surprise. Poor breakfast with a bacon sandwich inexplicably including balsamic vinegar. Taxi to and from hotel (to Gatwick)£25-£30 each way.

Highly recommend hotel, beautiful and friendly

Fantastic place to stay, especially if you’re on the way to Gatwick. The journey in the morning was easy but it’s not so close that you get aircraft noise. The welcome was friendly, the staff very helpful, the rooms were beautiful and so was the food in the restaurant. We had a very good breakfast included. There’s a lovely garden and plenty of footpaths nearby for good walks. Our upstairs room’s bathroom had a stylish freestanding bath which could be difficult to get in and out of and had a shower spray rather than a separate shower, but the room downstairs was very accessible so it’s still a great place for anyone with mobility issues. Highly recommend

8/10 Very good

The facility was full of character and having the restaurant onsite was convenient, the room was larger than the one I booked. However, it also was up an outside set of stairs which wasn’t the easiest for my husband who has compromised mobility. It also had a deep roll top bath, which while pretty to look at, was unusable for us seniors. A shower would have been much more useful, as it was for one night prior to flying, we managed. Of most concern was the lack of outside lighting outside the room I had need to go back to the car after the sun had set amd it was so dark it was dangerous. I had to go back and get my phone to use as a flash light so I didn’t trip on the wet wooden walkway and stairs. There were lamps above the two upper rooms, but neither were working. I would recommend fixing those asap. But the room was charming, despite taking ages to heat due to its large size.

Lovely room, nice rural location

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were not made to feel rushed, even though we arrived as the restaurant should have been closing. Excellent evening meal.

Excellent place, convenient to Gatwick, great food, excellent room. Only comment could do with a door mat inside bedroom to wipe feet particularly when wet

Staff were the highlight…

The staff were very friendly/efficient and the food was great. The only negatives were a lack of water pressure in the room and the height of the bed…

Very handy to Gatwick Airport especially if you’re returning a rental car. Meals were just fine in the restaurant. Good to have breakfast included.

10/10 Exceptional

The Old House Inn is a lovely little hotel with delicious meals and friendly staff. It is close to the Gatwick airport (10-15 minutes drive) with a lot more English charm than larger hotels at the airport. The property is beautiful but it is worth noting that the surrounding area is really only accessible by car/not walkable as there were no sidewalks or foot paths. We didn’t have a car but it was the perfect place to relax before a big flight.

Lovely Stay

Staff really helpful and welcoming. Service and food in restaurant excellent. Room lovely, just too hot and bed frame very noisy. Also green light on ceiling which was on all night made room to bright for us.
