SkyJump is bungee-jumping-meets-skydiving, and it’s located atop the Stratosphere Las Vegas Hotel & Casino (also known as the STRAT). You’re connected to a cord much like when bungee jumping, but there's less bouncing afterwards. After completing a safety briefing, jumpers are strapped into jumpsuits and harnesses with a short elastic line tethered to guide wires.

Next, it’s time for the plummet. Jumpers soar from the 108th floor of the casino tower above a view of the neon Strip, travelling 829 feet downward at speeds that can exceed 40 mph. For a sneak peek, check out footage from Jumpers on the STRAT’s webpage. The process, from being suited up to the jump itself, should take about 35 to 45 minutes, so you’ll have plenty of time before or afterwards to enjoy the other attractions of the STRAT. If you’re a thrill-seeker planning your next itinerary for a trip to Las Vegas, look no further than SkyJump.

SkyJump highlights

Along with SkyJump, The STRAT Hotel is home to other amusement rides, such as The Big Shot, Insanity, and the X-Stream. For travellers looking for a slightly tamer ride, the SkyPod is a stunning, one-of-a-kind experience that grants visitors a sweeping view of the Las Vegas valley. Guests also have access to the internationally acclaimed Top of the World restaurant and its 360-degree revolving dining room, the 107 SkyLounge, the Observation Deck, snacks from 108 Eats, and cocktails from 108 Drinks.

Speaking of drinks, from 3 to 5 pm daily, jumpers can join in with SkyJump’s Liquid Courage Happy Hour and receive 20% off SkyJump, plus a free Liquid Courage shot at 108 Drinks (with a substitution of a non-alcoholic drink for those under 21).

Other dining and attractions

For other entertainment, the STRAT hosts live shows, such as MJ Live, a celebration of Michael Jackson’s musical legacy, the L.A. Comedy Club, and Celestia, a circus extravaganza with elite acrobatics, dance, aerial performances, and more. Want more dining options? The STRAT features even more restaurants, such as PT’s Wings & Sports, STRAT Café, McCall’s Heartland Grill, Nunzio’s Pizzeria, plus others. The STRAT features plenty of shopping options, too, with over 30 stores.

Of course, alongside good eats, the STRAT’s 80,000-square-foot casino is a popular draw for visitors. The casino features 750 machines and 44 tables, with games such as craps, blackjack, baccarat, and roulette. You can also stop by to enjoy drinks, dancing, and live music from bands with hits from the ‘80s and ‘90s.

Good to know when visiting SkyJump

SkyJump is outdoors, so weather affects jump availability. You can choose between a daytime, nighttime, or sunset SkyJump. When winds exceed 44 mph, jumps are cancelled, and they are non-refundable. If jumpers change their mind, they get a second chance to jump, but not a third. If you bring personal items, you’ll want to store them in a locker or let a friend watch them. Non-jumpers must pay for admission. Jumping is open to individuals 14 years and older, with parental permission required for those under 18.

Guests at the STRAT receive a discount to SkyJump, as do Las Vegas locals. A variety of packages are available for SkyJump, such as a Photo Package and a Wrist Video Package, along with packages that include additional features, such as a stay at the hotel, dining offers, and casino inclusions. Note that company-approved recording devices are allowed, but personal recording devices are not.
