Surprisingly perfect
Top notch, recently refurbed hotel just a 5 minute walk from Paddington station. All staff were friendly and helpful who happily changed my room when I discovered it was inter-connecting. The room (their most 'basic') was small but perfect for a one or two night stay as long as you don't have big suitcases (then I'd recommend you go for a larger room). The king size bed was perhaps a little firm but otherwise perfect, and the pillows were nice and heavy. Plenty of power and USB connectors, including beside each bed. The room had 2 safes (a new one for me), electric day and night blinds and nice views. Cookies and water was provided for free, and the towels in the bathroom were big and fluffy, which is a rarity in hotels these days. Everything was clean and new, and the Smart TV was useful (although I couldn't get the browser to work). The room also had a 'Handy', like a iPhone, which you could use whilst out and about, but unfortunately ours didn't work, so I' not sure what you could actually use it for. The evening turndown service was really great as the lady made the bed, gave us new towels and replenished the water and cookies! The only 'complaint' I would make is that the door to the shower is incredibly narrow. I'm not the size of a house but could still barely get in without a squeeze. Bigger people would definitely struggle. The elevators worked really well, with one not having to wait more than a few seconds for one to arrive. Didn't eat in. Overall: Excellent

Clean Hotel near Hyde Park
The hotel is located just across Hyde Park and is easy to get to with the Heathrow Express. We walked everywhere - 30min to Notting Hill, ca.40min to Westfield Mall and ca.20min to Oxford Street. If you dont want to walk, the tube is just nearby. The hotel itself is clean with friendly waiting staff. We were able to check in earlier than 2pm and our room was on the seventh floor overlooking a part of the construction so not much of a view..However, we were only there for a weekend so this was not as important for us. The room was quiet and equipped with necessities. The bathroom was super clean and the beds were comfortable to sleep in. If you just want to see what the fridge has...don't open it at all. The products are weighted and even the slightest movement will be charged. There was 2 small bottled waters outside of the fridge but there was no information on whether they were complimentary or not so we did not touch them either. We were given chocolates upon our departure which was a kind gesture. Only negative with our trip was that the fire alarm went off at 2:30am on the Saturday but we do not think that the hotel did a good job in making sure their guests were outside the rooms &/or informed that it was safe to stay in. We would have appreciated an automated message on the phone, a response of what happened with an envelope under the door or any information or some sort of apology/compensation (as it seems it was a false alarm) offered when checking out.

Fair 4.0
We asked for upper level room and was not available even though we upgraded the room. When we finally got the room keys as we tried to enter the room, we could not open it, the key would not open the door, we were in a hurry since we had to be somewhere in an hour. I asked the room service to call someone to assist. It took a whole 20 minutes to figure out the problem. Apparently the battery was dead on the door lock and the key was not working . We were late by 15 min to our invitation even after scrambling for a taxi due to London traffic. When we checked out, we were not even approached by the the staff member to apologize with the inconvenience caused. I will think twice before re-visiting this hotel and definitely not pay £400/night

Great Location! Excellent Staff! Comfy Room!
Just off of Hyde Park and and easy 5 minute walk to Paddington Station. If you are walking from the tube station you may have a little trouble finding it due to the remodeling it is undergoing, but it is the tallest building in the area. Totally worth the effort to find. The staff was unfailingly pleasant and helpful. The newly renovated rooms are well thought out, quiet, sparkling clean and have USB charging plugs EVERYWHERE! The new bathrooms are gorgeous - we stole many of the ideas for our own master bath remodel - raindance shower, frameless glass shower door, heated bathroom floor and heated towel rack. All granite and marble. The location is the best part of all. Close to Paddington which will enable you to take the tube or the national railway to anywhere. The area around Paddington gives you the opportunity to easily find a local pub or restaurant. The one thing we learned the hard way is that the minibar is automated. I put a bottle of wine I had bought in the minibar. Everything that I moved in the minibar to accommodate my bottle of wine was charged to my room automatically. The front desk staff resolved that issue with just a phone call, but it was a surprise that cropped up at the end of our stay. Absolutely recommend the Lancaster London. Wonderful place to sta

Can't imagine staying anywhere else in London!
The standard room I had seemed very up to date and spacious, as far as I was concerned. I liked the sofa, the desk, and the double window shades. The bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows. Bathroom accessories were very nice, towels were the size of beach towels and shower/water pressure was very strong. I liked the subdued night light setting. Everyone I encountered at the hotel was friendly and professional. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else in London. It's near a tube stop and Hyde Park. This was my third time staying here and it was the best!
