Was told on arrival we had been upgraded to exec room only to realise once I checked my booking that what i had booked and paid for. The cooked breakfast was average . Not worth the money .

What service should be like - the gold standard
This is what service is all about. Truly delightful. We had a slight issue that when we checked in they booked us into a lower grade room than we had booked. But when we raised this it was so quickly dealt with and we were then shown a few rooms to pick from, that by the end of it and getting our room, we were delighted with how it had been handled. This is a true five star service where you needs were anticipated before you had to say you had a need. We ate in the brasserie for Dinner and the service was perfect. I am a very fussy diner and I own several service businesses so I am hyper critical of other companies service, and I could not fault it. Drinks are a little over priced which is sad they feel the need to do that with a coke and a coffee costing us £12. We also had tea in the palm room, which is a lovely experience and again it is the staff and service whom make it so special. Breakfast is an absolute delight with masses to chose from and all beautifully presented and fresh. Toast is from sliced bread and would of been nice from fresh cut bread at this level of hotel. Our room was lovely and the bathroom was simply stunning.. it could have done with a bit of a scrub around the bath tap but that was the only thing i could fault in there. Bedroom was lovely too. I would have like a slightly better quality pillow as our were thin and quite flat but again this was the only criticism which could of been levied. other than that the room was perfect.
