Great stay, even better food!

The stay was great. Rooms modern, with all facilities you needed for a pleasant stay. Beds were very comfortable, USB sockets very handy. The restaurant was superb, some of the best lamb I’ve ever had!

Nice hotel, good breakfast, great gym! Slightly let down by tired looking decor and early finish for ordering in the restaurant (8:45). Also disappointed that the fine dining was only available at weekends.

Lovely ‘old house’ feel to this hotel. Friendly staff. Our room was upgraded for no apparent reason and we were appreciative of this. Comfortable bed.

No Room Key for the first night so each time I left my room I needed to go to reception for them to take me back and let me back in. Complained room service was cold so they removed tray charge but still charged for the food.

8/10 Very good

We enjoyed our stay. We knew that the hotel would be in need of some updating from the reviews. The staff were friendly and helpful We were a bit disappointed that our kingsize bed was actually 2 zip and link beds with a join down the middle-a kingzise mattress cover would elevate this. We were offered an alternative so that was good but we chose to stick. The room was a good size and had a nice outlook over the lake The pool and spa area were pleasant and we enjoyed the sauna steam room and pool with the outlook over fields and sheep. We had breakfast at the hotel and that was buffet style with a good selection of hot and cold. It would have been nice if we Could have ordered poach eggs as part of the included breakfast. The room was grand and nicely set. We did not use the bar or restaurant for evening meals. The area is lovely countryside with Shrewsburys shops and restaurants nearby. We Used Tesco vouchers for our trip and used Walrus and Hencote restaurants nearby-both highly recommended. We will return to this area.

Good value hotel and spa

We had a nice stay. The hotel grounds are lovely. The hotel room was a bit weathered and in need of some TLC, but was big, clean and comfortable. It is good value for the room and use of spa (which is also a bit weathered). Would definitely stay again.

Great Stay !

Our room was clean, spacious and well presented. Taps in the bathroom could do with an update. Room would be enhanced with a little flair in the decoration. We used the pool, which was great. We ate in the bar area overlooking the beautiful gardens. You don't have to book a table as you do in the dining room. The food was excellent and waiter efficient and friendly. We then had drinks on the terrace overlooking the lake. Breakfast was very good with lot's of selection. Would recommend 👌

Delightful hotel

The Albrighton hotel and spa is a very relaxing space to be in. The staff were all very friendly and polite. The outside space was truly delightful with its lake and water fountain. Inside the hotel takes you back in time. On a negative point. The dining area could do with a good dusting. There were cobwebs over the windows and dust on the windowsills. Which is alittle off putting. The spa area was nice but could also do with a deep clean as it has funny smell. Apart from that the hotel is lovely and i would recommend for short break or any special event.
Christina, 2-night trip

Good location, friendly staff, good food.

My wife and I stayed overnight and were greeted by a very friendly and helpful recrptionist who also sorted out a minor bedroom issue with speed and efficiency. We ate in the dining room and both enjoyed a very well cooked, presented and served meal. The beds were comfortable. The grounds of the hotel were well maintained and pleasant which made our evening stroll very relaxing. Breakfast was also very good, with plenty of options and good quality food. There were a couple of issues, one of which was the room was very warm with almost zero ventiation - had it been a hot day it would have been unbearably warm in the room. Also the doors are very noisy and my wife was woken on several occasions by the noise of doors slamming in the corridor, even though our room was at the end of the corridor.

Lovely overnight stay with work

The hotel grounds a stunning. The hotel also has great facilities, particularly the gym & spa. Had a lovely big room. While the hotel is well kept and there'd clearly been some refurbishment of areas, it's one of many hotels in the UK that's just past it's prime and needs a major refurbishment but on the whole still very nice.
Alex, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Stunning Setting, Disappointing Details

The hotel is stunning, but the service was disappointing. At check-in, no information was provided about the breakfast times, the location of the breakfast room, or the spa facilities. I had to ask multiple questions to get even the most basic details, which left a poor first impression. Housekeeping was also inconsistent, with unvacuumed carpets and bathroom bin left uncleared. Overall, while the hotel’s appearance and some staff members impressed, the lack of clear communication, inconsistent housekeeping, and poor spa management took away from what could have been a truly enjoyable stay.
