It's an old hotel with a huge character and if you want something ultra modern and sterile not for you... We loved how traditional it felt. Lovely staff, super helpful, everything we required provided without fuss...

Lovely surroundings, easy walk to town centre. Breakfast was hit and miss sharply any hot buffet left 40 mins before end of service and had to persistently ask if anything was coming out. Also ran out of a lit of continental breakfast items.

This is a grand annd old fashioned hotel. Staff are friendly, the food was pretty good (we ate at the restaurant one evening). My main criticism was that it was quite draftyThere’s lots of onsite parking, which is charged at £12 per night.

Lovely old imposing hotel.only there for 1 night so did not really use all the amenities. Was in a great spot for the town .I asked for a room on the first floor near to the stairs because my wife struggles walking and they greatly obliged. Unfortunately we did not have nice weather but there is a lovely outside grass area at the front with tables and chairs .We had our dog with us so spent the evening in a lovely relaxing lounge bar and had something to eat .Had a good night's sleep and was really quite during the night .would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again .

Nice old school hotel. If you want modern convenience go to a premier Inn. If you want the actual lift Agatha Christie used to go to breakfast in, then come here!
