Hotel resident but pay £5 to park
Why do you have to pay for parking as a resident at the hotel?
1-night trip

6/10 Good

Staff were friendly . Hotel is a bit dated . Room was clean and definitely dated . It did smell of being old . Bed was very comfortable. Room price was very good .

Excellent hotel with fantastic facilities
ANDREW, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Faulty towers
Deluxe rooms don't have a view of the picturesque river. You now have to pay for parking. The shower thermostats in almost all the rooms I've stayed in have all been poor.
Nigel, 2-night trip

Good location
The hotel is in a good location. The bed was comfy and bathroom clean. Fairly standard accommodation but staff were friendly
Diane, 1-night trip

£5 to park your car in the hotel car park ?????
Hotel is good for the price but spoilt by lack of care- curtain where hanging off and light outside in the hall was off so needed to use torch on my phone to find the key whole. Also the fact that you have to pay £5 to park your car is not hi-lighted enough. Bit of a con really as the hotel is beside the motorway and no other place you can park ????
Susan, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Clean place for a stopover
It was an ok stay. The family room was massive which the kids loved, everything was just a bit tired and dated but clean which is the main thing. Breakfast was poor. Continental option was limited to say the least and the cooked to order option left something to be desired. Staff were pleasant enough and it was fine for a motorway stop but save your money on breakfast!

Retro 80s
Staff attentive and helpful. Hotel might be best described as retro 80s. Cleanliness good.

4/10 Fair

A far cry from 4*
A last minute stay for us but not the 4* as advertised. Paper coming off the ceiling, someone else’s hair on our bathroom floor, Poor lighting in the bedroom, and wall so thin we could hear our neighbours snoring
Sarah, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

It was an ok stay. Nice bar area
Lynn, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

unclear pricing at Tickled Trout
Really disappointed to find that additional parking charge is added to my bill on arrival. That was not clear in the booking process and I believe I had a fixed price with only breakfast added as an additional cost. This is really not clear. Gives a very poor first impression.
Jeremy, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Cheap so what do you expect
Certainly not a 4 star. Struggling to make it a 3 star. Staff were good. Food was ok. Heating in room didn't work. Shower could do with a spray of mould killer. It was difficult to change channels on the TV. Kept jumping channels. Curtains were ancient.
William, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Mixed Views
Clean room but awkward to get to from reception. Some dust apparent. Bathroom very small with WC hard against the tiles and uncomfortable. Bathroom fan very noisy. Bathroom clean and well equipped. Staff very nice. Parking haphazard. One bed of the twin was collapsing at one corener/missing a foot?It wasn't obvious how to get into the hotel from the main road. Hotel in need of a lot of TLC and looks shabby from the outside.
Paul, 1-night trip

Ann, 1-night trip

Not bad but could be better
The room was poorly lit, very dark
Lee, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Not accessible and overbooked family room
Booked a family room as travelling with my husband and 2 young kids. Arrived to check in to be told there were no family rooms available because others had booked and already checked in, so instead we were given 2 separate rooms which wasn’t ideal given we had 2 small kids. After receiving the keys, we went to find the lift given we had a pushchair with our youngest, only to find to get to the lift you need to go downstairs… made zero logical sense and not very accessible at all.
Alison, 1-night trip
