We had a very nice stay but was surprised at such a heavy resort fee on top of already high prices. Put us over budget and didn’t expect that. The room was musty and very humid. We were told that San Juan is humid. Not what I wanted to hear as AC usually takes care of that. Overall people were very nice and resort was pretty.

A great place to stay - just one complaint
The Sonesta is an easy ride from the airport. about 7 minutes. Use Uber - cheaper than the cabs! from the minute we arrived, the staff were helpful and friendly. I found their customer service to be excellent. We needed more pillows, face towels, a hot water kettle, all needs were responded to quickly and with a friendly smile. The pool area is lovely and a comfortable place to spend hours or days. The beach area is also lovely. BE WARNED - on weekend the hotel next door, The Fairmont, plays VERY VERY loud music and no matter where you sit on the beach, you will have a constant thumping in your head. There is little anyone can do about this - I tried! Even if you sit at the far end of the Sonesta beach away from the Fairmont, you can still hear the thumping. This made it very hard for me to relax, enjoy reading my book, listening to the waves, etc. The Sonesta Manager was friendly and listened but nothing changed. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The beds were comfortable. the A/C worked well and kept the room at a comfortable temp. Our room was a city view however another in our party looked over the ocean and it was beautiful. The concierge made terrific recommendations and as a result had some terrific meals and experiences.
