We stayed here overnight after arriving in Belize, as a jump off point for our snorkeling trip out at Glover’s Atoll. Staff lovely, property inside and out is very nice. Highly recommend to other travelers if they need a night to stay someplace en route on their journey.

This is a quaint older hotel. Short walk from the Dangriga airport. Not all rooms have AC so be sure to request a room that has it. There is no pool or beach access from the property, very large rocks block the way.

I've stayed at Pelican twice. There's always an issue with the "free" continental breakfast. Last time, they charged separately for coffee, although it was brought to us by the server. This time, the breakfast was limited to three items (egg, toast, fruit...) but this wasn't explained up front and we unknowingly ordered several items. I love the property, but the confusion over "free" breakfast that is not free is annoying.

What a wonderful place. If I were to return to Belize, I would only be staying here. The staff members are superb, particularly Jodie and Dareena, exceptional at what they do, super friendly, helpful and professional. They even had our names printed out on a chalkboard at the entrance welcoming us. The restaurant is wonderful, as is the dream-like scenery that faces you: palms and gently rolling waves. We were very happy here and would strongly recommend it to anyone.

Room #8 was clean but it was noisy with the people coming out of the front doors, and sound coming through the windows. And speaking of windows, I have never ever seen a window in the door and two windows in a interior wall, not only noisy but it lights up the room it’s never dark just to much light coming in to be able to sleep well. Wait staff could use some training on being a little more attentive to their customers and not having to get up and ask for something. I would not stay there again.

The property location is nice and the ambience at the outdoor dining and the beach is great. The service in the restaurant is good. The rooms need some updating. The new added rooms to the old building are marketed as deluxe but there is nothing deluxe about the. They are basic rooms. I had stayed in the same room 2 years ago and I can see the difference on how the bed has aged and needs to be changed. I paid for a double bed room but I was given a standard room for the same price. The property has a lot of potential for improvement but it seems that management chose to just provide the basic. The price does not commensurate with the quality.

The hotel was about what we anticipated for our 1 night stay in Dangriga. It was clean enough & the staff was friendly. The food & drinks were average. Beds are not comfortable so I woke up with my back hurting. We wanted to stay a couple of hours past check out - which should have been easy enough because the hotel was pretty much empty - we would have happily paid $20-30 extra for the 2 hours. They wanted $50 which is absurd for 2 hours considering what a 1 night stay costs (pretty inexpensive). Pretty short sided thinking since we would have spent much more on food & drinks had they been more accommodating. If we come back to stay on Manta Island (which I'm sure we will because it is amazing), we will find a way to do it without staying over in Dangriga.
