The reception has limited time. Although the hotel leaves us the contact number when staff are not around, it didn’t work for a while. I needed to leave a luggage in the morning until the next stay after a week. I almost missed the flight as none responded to my calls.

Great stay in the heart of Ueno
Great stay! Prime location. It’s close to Ueno station and the Ueno Kesei Skyliner if you’re flying in from Narita Airport. The rooms are small, and the bathroom layout is different than what you see in most Tokyo hotels, but it’s cozy. Most staff didn’t speak English but they’re so great and will help with anything! Will be back soon!

Pros: Excellent service at front desk. Cons: Only one tiny elevator for entire hotel, hotel needs a major renovation to update everything, tile in bathroom floor and around sink needs to be cleaned, no lobby area (check in is on the third floor in a 12x12 sq ft room), emergency exit that leads to staircase outside of building does not have secured doors on each floor, ugly old brown towels in bathroom.
