Expensive room which needed maintenance (electrical wires showing, toilet roll holder was a bolt…) Parking was difficult with the car park not very big, it was full and shared with local residents. It’s a convenient location but overall the hotel felt tired and in need of renovation.

Great area, better location than city centre!
We loved this hotel. The location was brilliant, I’m really happy we didn’t stay in the city centre, there was lots to see and do on our doorstep here. Museums, gardens and walks. Restaurants, cafes and bars. We loved the live music in the Irish bar a 5 minute walk away. The hotel was better than expected, a lovely building from the front, the bathroom maybe a little dated but suited the hotel enough to get away with it for now. Only problem was the Friday night drunks coming out of the church bar at 4am opposite, I don’t think the windows were double glazed and they were noisy, however I don’t remember noticing and traffic noise. Overall a brilliant stay and wouldn’t hesitate to go back!

Room for improvement
Main area of the hotel were lovely with a very pleasant welcome from staff. Our room was small but functional with secondary glazing that kept the noise from the street out. Unfortunately the level of cleanliness particularly in the bathroom as poor.

The Grosvenor Hotel Glasgow
The hotel was disappointing and looked tired. Although the room was clean, there was sign of wear and tear, marked headboard, chipped woodwork/furniture. The toilet didn’t want to flush, the shower gel dispenser empty and the radiator didn’t work. There was also a constant tapping coming from somewhere. No do not disturb sign. Breakfast was okay, not great. Overall we were disappointed, shame really as it is a beautiful building from the outside.

Unfortunately our expectations of this hotel were higher than what our experience was. On arrival, we were greeted nicely by the receptionist. However, we were not asked about breakfast and were not given any advice as to how to add this to our booking. The room itself was nice, however under bed was filthy and I found a long black hair under my quilt. The bathroom was clean however all the soaps were watery and not at all pleasant to use. We felt that for the price we paid and having stayed in hotels of a similar standard, we would have expected more.
