Good 6.0
Nice stay, some pros and cons
Positive - great location, spacious room, lovely bar near reception with knowledgeable bar man. Great restaurants nearby Negative - room was dated and was stifling when we arrived and couldn’t control the heating so had to call the reception to call a plumber. Was really noisy in the night (can’t really be helped but made for an uncomfortable stay). Also, dirty bedding on arrival

Poor 2.0
Couldn't wait to leave
Stayed one night as was in Inverness visiting sick relative and just needed a bed for night, arrived late in evening, very disappointed on walking into room, was tiny and dated, very old fashioned furniture that should have been in the dump. Floor uneven and creaked with every step. Bed uncomfortable and I couldn't wait till morning to get out. Didn't sleep as was woken by person in next room, walking around , hear having shower and flushing toilet, sounded like water tank/ toilet was in my room , so loud. Window panes cracked , full of mould, also shower mouldy, was disgusting. Room was cheap but I expected it to be clean, it wasn't , also carpet disgusting. Wouldn't stay again

Sadly disappointed 😐
I had booked a room for two adults and a child with a special request for a cot bed. When we got to the room there was only one super-king bed in the room and towels for two people. After explaining at reception, they noticed their mistake and apologised. A cot was provided half an hour later. I also think that if they advertise free wifi, you should be able to connect to it. They still took the full payment for the room though. Our evening meal was lovely and breakfast very tasty. The staff were all extremely pleasant. I just came away feeling disappointed having specifically booked there as it claimed to be family friendly.

Great Location/Rooms with Character
I was happy to see my "cottage" room when I walked in the door. While the window looked only into an open area the size of a small closet, the room was very comfortable and worth the price. I arrived around 1 in the afternoon and the staff allowed me to check-in early, leaving plenty of time to walk around and take in the area. The only downside was that the tub wouldn't fill all the way with hot water on the day I arrived. I imagine the hot water in the cottages is shared between rooms. If you don't care about taking a bath, the shower would've been fine.
