My daughter and I stayed for a night recently. A home away from home, with friendly staff and personalized service. Walking distance to Tube stations and Euston station and UCL main campus. A gem in the city and value for money. Our only regret is the property was full and not available for second night stay.

This is in a nice location. The breakfast was good. The rooms are pretty small and I was there during a heatwave. No air conditioning which was tough in a small room with a small window.. I would recommend this hotel for a time when it’s not too hot outside.

Nice place and served us well in terms of location an basic amenities. Rooms were very small but we just needed a place to lay our heads at night. I like the feel the place which is 200+ years old. Apart from a huge piece of plaster hanging in the entrance, the place was nice. Leaving our luggage there while we went sightseeing our last day was a huge plus

Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Rooms are small, bit cramped if you’re sharing with someone. Stayed on a warm June day and the room doesn’t have AC, only a ceiling fan, so room gets very warm without much respite. Beds are standard doubles, so again, not a lot of space if you’re sharing a bed. Relatively clean, but the shower had quite a bit of mould. Does the job for a brief overnight stay, but I’d recommend an alternative hotel if it’s the middle of summer.

Our family room was not at all like the pictures. It was much smaller and in serious need of painting. The room door did not have a complete door jam and I could see light from the hallway at night. A plug socket, present within a shelf unit, was loose and did not comply with H&S. This has now been fixed (not by the hotel). We arrived in an October rain shower to find a fan was in use in our room and windows open. The sewer stench experienced next morning demonstrated why. We covered plug holes with wet towels to prevent the smell, but there is clearly a serious plumbing problem. Our first breakfast took quite a while to arrive. The presentation looked good, but everything was stone cold and therefore not edible. Once a staff member was present this was explained, but no remedies were offered. Breakfast was avoided the next morning. The location is good, just a short walk from the tube. The street is pleasant with Waterstones, including cafe, just across the street. At checkout I normally expect to be asked how my stay had been, the absence of any such enquiry makes me wonder if staff already know the answer? The rating seen on Hotels site seems suspicious to me.
