Staff were lovely, beds were comfy and exploring the town was a fun day out, would definitely stay again :)
It did get noisy through the night, but it was a pub on a Saturday so to be expected and also the parking situation was a potential unexpected cost, luckily we nabbed a free space right outside but they’re car park was taken up by a big food truck so we almost had to pay to park further away.

Nice, budget hotel. If you can't afford staying in Whitby, this is the best option. Clean comfortable rooms with excellent bedding.

I stayed for 2 nights, as soon as you go upstairs to where the rooms are, there is a distinct smell of damp! Even more so in the small room.
Also the main light in the room and the bathroom light were very dim.
The bed was very comfy.
I would say the rooms need a freshen up, paint, new curtains and carpets.
Even when I got home, my clothes still smelt.

Bad smell coming from toilet, felt sick after drinking water from the tap. Shelf broken over sink, noisy pluming, window pane coming away from handle.

The landlady was brilliant. Made herself available, was efficient, friendly and very helpful.
The room itself wasn’t that clean. We had an issue with the shower ( dealt with promptly by the landlady). We would have liked a bedside table and lamps.

Sorry to say the on suite in the room was very dated. The light did not work , The toilet did not flush correctly , the bath tap swirled round when using it.also the sink plug wouldn't drain properly. . Reported to staff no satisfaction.

poor check-in service, they were prioritising pub customers over check-in. Music from pub very loud until 23:30

I would only recommend this inn for spring or fall travels, or during cooler summer times. I would not recommend them at all during the winter. The boiler was not turned on until we complained and even then, we didnt have any heat until 1 or 2 in the morning for just a few hours. Confirmed with other guests that they experienced the same. Staff ladies were friendly and kept reporting the issue, but the owner told them it was only us with the problem and nothing changed. Very questionable. I had to make arrangements 2 nights of my week stay to sleep elsewhere, and ended up checking out a day early because it was so cold in the rooms. 4th night affected i toughed it out because my daughter couldnt pick me up duw to work. Owner definitely pinching due to higher rates but I stayed here after confirming prior they did turn the heat on (due to experiencing this elsewhere previously), so its pretty disappointing. One lady offered to contact the owner about a partial refund and we never heard back.

Old fashioned club music till midnight. Had to open window to let the music out. Should have left after first night really. Very busy pub. Didn’t have food. No breakfast offered. Room fine and very clean. Kettle, coffee and tea.
