Without doubt the worst nights sleep ive had in decades. If i wanted to listen to angry drunken fools ranting all night(literally gone midnight....and then the car revving) about asylum seekers and how their life is so rubbish because of them id have spent the night im the local wetherspoons. Turns out my room was above smokers corner!
Annoyingly this hotel could be so much more than a locals drinking establishment as the restaurant looks lovely!
The staff were lovely and the actual room was ok although you do need binoculars to watch the small tv at the far end of the room

Nice hotel, in the middle of Braintree.
Check in was easy, room was a hike, especially after a knee replacement but it was neat and tidy albeit dated in furnishings and being on the top floor which was quite hot.
Restaurant and bar were as expected, food was really tasty , staff attentive and polite.
Shame the cost was not B&B for the price paid, but all round a nice, easy stay.

The Hotel was ideal for our needs, roughly 10/12 minutes from Railway Station, Shops close by, quiet and a comfortable stay, would stop here again.

Stayed here before ideal location for Braintree town centre with its many good pubs and restaurants. The bar is always busy and the restaurant is usually well attended

Parking was good, staff very pleasant. The room was tired but adequate.
The room was near the boiler room and it sounded like helicopter was outside all night so we had a terrible sleep. Do not stay in number 29 or anywhere near this part of the hotel.

Very convenient for town centre, with free parking. It is an old building and the layout reflects this. Narrow staircases, no lift, I struggled with a case and bag. Room ok, shower over bath, bed comfortable enough. Overall, stay ok and reasonable value.

Overall I found the White Hart excellent value for money. It's a dated property, but the room had been painted and the bathroom spruced up not long ago, so it was neat and clean. The parking area/entrance was a bit cramped and could do with some sprucing up.
The breakfast was great value for a cooked breakfast and continental selection, and the cinnamon bun was delicious!
