went out to stresa for my birthday as had never been for a short break. easily reached by alibus or train to stresa itself. great location, so beautiful loads to see and do. boats so easily available to taxi you about to other resorts on lake but so glad to of stayed in stresa. with the lake and views as far as you can see and the alps in distance lit up by the sun when it was out there nothing to do buy chill out, explore and soak up the scenery with lots of food and drink. hotel is 5 mins...

The area is the best you will find in central Lugano. There is a funicular next to the hotel taking you directly to Lugano train station. The lake is 200m walk. The service is as good as any hotel I have ever been. The staff and very friendly and helpful. They helped me plan my trip to the two main Lugano mountains. A great place to stay being a short walk from the railway station located near the lake. Upper floor rooms especially floor 4 have very good lake views. Reception was very good and helped with lots of good advice to make my stay even better. Breakfast was very good with all the usual on offer. The dining area is spacious and there were always tables available regardless of arrival time. Room was large, well equipped, very comfortable and quiet. Bathroom with large walk-in shower was excellent....
