26 Sept 2026Fabulous hotel , all rooms are new and very clean , everything was just spot on , breakfasts were great , large selection of fresh hot and cold choices, and everything topped up constantly, plenty of coffee machines and very nice coffee. The staff are amazing , so helpful and work hard to make your stay enjoyable.
Beds are comfy , powerful shower and fluffy towels.
The food in the bar was really good and they also have two restaurants so there is plenty of choice.
The hotel is a 10 -15 walk into town downhill on the way in and taxis are cheap.

11 Aug 2026Lovely views and easy access to the cliff walks. The facilities feel new and staff is very accommodating. The pool was family friendly, but lap swimmers found time and space if they wanted. Only downside is the location; the walk to town is a bit long and hot - a shuttle would be nice a few times a day to maybe save a walk.

19 Jul 2026We really enjoyed our stay at the Wyndham Grand Carvoeiro. The hotel was clean, modern, and the staff were lovely. It's walking distance to town, a really great rooftop bar, and a lovely beach restaurant.
The only downside was that the hotel's website states that there is an adult pool. However, when there were kids at the pool we were told by staff that it's adult recommended, not adult only, and they were not willing to police it. If having a quiet, adult-only space is important for you as you relax, as it is to us, this may not be your best option.

29 Jun 2026The hotel is modern and tastefully designed. Spa facilities were outstanding and couldn't fault it, save for some lack of cleaning in certain areas around the pool. Breakfast was a standard spread, but what they had was good quality, particularly liked the fresh egg and pancake station. We went to celebrate our anniversary and informed the staff, but were not greeted with so much as a cookie to help us celebrate the occasion. For a five star resort, I expected a bit more. However, the overall service provided by the reception and breakfast staff was good. Would definitely recommend staying here.

One thing to be aware of: if you value privacy while sleeping, avoid room 204. The room is right next to the hallway used by guests on the upper second floor. People often walk by or even pause there to look at the pool view, and from that spot they can clearly see into the room at a very close distance. It led to several awkward moments of eye contact while lying in bed.
Also, the indoor spa and jacuzzi were not working during our stay.

26 Jul 2026The hotel has been recently renovated to an excellent standard. Our room was immaculate, with plenty of space, a balcony with comfortable lounge chair, and the usual coffee table and two chairs. The adult pool was our preferred place - much quieter than the main pool.
The breakfast as others have said has been excellent with plenty of choice every day. The a la carte restaurant is totally worth it. The food at the bar and the restaurant was also amazing even though we only tried a few things and spent most of our evenings visiting local restaurants - you will be spoilt for choice. Carvoiero has plenty of great options but also worth venturing further out to Portimão or Faro if you have a car.
There is a 7km hiking trail right at the hotel's doorstep on top of the cliffs passing by beautiful coves, Benagil and a number of viewpoints. Make sure you wear proper shoes and apply plenty of sunscreen as there is very little shade on the trail. If you want to do it, make sure you have an early breakfast and make a start before 9 am so you can cover most of it while the temperatures are still manageable.
The service was impeccable. We found all staff to be attentive, approachable and unobtrusive. Kudos to the bar staff and front desk who went above and beyond when we had a request.

29 Jun 2026Worst nights sleep ever!! The beds were the biggest issue and the main reason I would not recommend Wyndham Residences Algarve Carvoeiro. We expected a new 4-star hotel experience, but the bed was unbelievably hard. Genuinely the hardest and most uncomfortable hotel bed we have ever slept on. There was no topper or anything to soften it, and my back still hurts. Our friends had a separate room and had the same experience. None of us slept well.
The room also got extremely hot. The AC shuts off the second you open the door, so it felt like a sauna at times. The chocolates left in the room even melted.
The room design was also very strange. The toilet and shower are essentially in the room, not in a separate enclosed bathroom. There is little privacy, you can hear everything, and if someone turns on the bathroom lights at night, it wakes up anyone sleeping. There are also bright lights near the doors that cannot be turned off, creating unwanted light at night.
Noise was another issue. We could hear people in the hallway and next door. The pool umbrellas also did not tilt, so at times there was no way to adjust the shade.
The property has some nice areas and the breakfast buffet was wonderful, but the beds, heat, layout, lighting, and noise made this feel nowhere near a 4-star stay.
