Easy walk from the train station. Great price. Our window was broken, which in France in the summer is not good, but since we weren't there long, I didn't ask to be moved. Close to the ocean, so dinner at the hotel, outside with the ocean breeze, was lovely. The staff was great, with one fluent English speaker, so a big plus if you don't speak French. Other than the window, the room was fine and all we needed.

So this was my second stay at this hotel. The room was much nicer. The hotel is dated. But its suitable especially for the cabaret that is next door. The staff, especially the young ladies who speak amazing English, are very considerate, helpful and knowledgeable. The location is great. This time I explored a the area and I found the hotel's location to be very convenient.

Brest visit
This is a very interesting hotel which has been captured in time. The hotel is old, dated decorations. However, the decorations are absolutely appropriate for the cabaret that is next door. You become suspended in time. The rooms are simple, but very clean. No frills, but clean. Unfortunately, the rooms have aged hard wood floors, so I was very concerned about waking other guests. The hotel wasn't loud, but you can easily hear your neighbors. The hotel is conveniently located two blocks from the train station which I needed. But this is not an attractive area of town. The food in the restaurant was fantastic! I was the first to arrive and by the time I'd finished, the restaurant had many guests.

Modest, but clean and friendly. An old-fashioned hotel, charming, not modern. Small room, perfectly comfortable and clean. Convenient downtown location. Very good restaurant. I would stay there again next time in Brest.

Great quaint historical hotel in center of Brest
Hotel Vauban in Brest was a lovely quaint hotel full of rich history dating back from the 1950s . It's an artsy and cultural hotel that made history as a music club featuring famous performers . The rooms are modernized but still have great character and charm . I stayed three 3 nights , each room is different . Ideal Location next to all public transport , take the regional bus to any of the many breezy shore towns in Bretagne in the summer . Great restaurant with terrace next door is open late and offers impressive local regional specialties and beers .

Good value, just bring earplugs for the weekend
Friendly staff at a basic but good value hotel. There is a music venue/club underneath the hotel. On Friday and Saturday nights, it gets really loud til 4 or 5am. We were on the third floor and heard it, just make sure you bring. Otherwise, the hotel location is quite central making it easy to walk most anywhere in Brest.

Good place to stay
Spent 2 nights here with a coleague. Very enjoyable stay. The room and facilities were very adequate and met our needs. Wifi was easy to connect to and fairly fast. Breakfast could have been a bit better. Some sliced bread for toast rather than just baguetts, which were very nice. Fully appreciate it was offered as a continental breakfast but at 9 Euro it could have been nicer with scrambled eggs or something. The hotel is a bit of a local landmark and has, apparently a great Jazz bar in the basement at weekends but as we were there on a Monday and Tuesday we saw none of this, shame.. Very convenient if arriving by train and to get to lots of resteraunts and bars, new and old. Would be more than happy to stay here again.

every thing superb
Every thing good about this hotel. Have stayed 5 times. Best to get a room on the 3/4/ or 5th floor as they have a Disco on Friday and Saturday night in the basement. It avoids the noise.

Bof.
