Spacious accomodation with history and great feel. During the week you order breakfast from the Kitchen. On busy days (sunday) the breakfast is all laid out for a self help arrangement. Great Basement with games area. Pool, Snooker, Board games. Great area to walk to and enjoy a drink with friends.

Dropped star as bar we needed to use with dog for breakfast was cold (both temperature and decor), and room service breakfast missed things both mornings we had that hand had stone cold toast both times (tip from other hotels = make sure some colour to the toast, cover in napkin, get it to room quickly. We love to go to Stanbrook Abbey for a meal. However, we would not return for Christmas Day lunch as it was not good value for money nor would we stop again in an accessible room as it was not suitable for someone in a wheelchair. The staff are very friendly and the amenities are very clean. The food is wonderful and the quality is excellent. We did however have a problem at breakfast when The order placed was not received correctly. However, this was put right by the staff. We will definitely return for a meal but would not recommend the accessible rooms to anyone, which is a shame as it’s the only thing that lets the hotel down.

Wonderful experience staying a Standbrook Abbey. Great to see around the historic features of the hotel. The room upgrade was massive with 4 poster bed and roll-top bath as well as a 2 person shower. Had afternoon tea as well as an evening meal and really enjoyed both. Will definitely return if in the area.

The hotel is stunning. The staff are wonderful and the whole hotel is a little bit of luxury. The breakfast was lovely with lots of choice and it is also freshly prepared. We loved how quiet it was- there was a NYE event the evening we stayed, but you couldn’t hear a thing from our room which was exactly what we wanted. We can’t wait to stay again and would love to visit again in the summer and next NYE!

Upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely member of staff who took us straight to the reception and got us checked in and then took us straight to our room which they had given us a free upgrade which was out of this world about half hour later reception rang up the room to ensure that everything was good with the room we also booked for dinner which was out of this world I cannot recommend the hotel enough We will definitely be returning great work and excellent customer service

Unbearably hot room

Welcome, cleanliness and food were all superb. Service in the bar can only be described as odd, with passive-aggressive reactions to questions from ourselves and other guests. A young team who were more interested in each other than their Guests. The biggest issue though was the temperature of the room which was like being in a sauna. The hotel had installed a wall fan, but this didn't make much difference and was very noisy. We had our dog with us, so assumed they had no other dog-friendly rooms available.
