Second time staying at The Hoxton, Shoreditch and I have to say it’s ok. Rooms are small and don’t have that luxury feel you’d expect. We had a problem with our room door not locking when we went out, informed reception who contacted their maintenance person, received a msg from them about an hour later saying there was nothing wrong with the door and we must have closed it incorrectly! There was clearly a problem with the door which they managed to fix, why not just admit there was a problem?? Makes no sense! Also had an issue with room above moving furniture around til 1am, my partner called reception who said they would send someone up, 5 mins later we received a call saying they’d sent security up and had advised them to stop moving furniture, luckily this worked (thank you!) and we didn’t hear them moving furniture til around 10am the next morning. Staff were friendly, the lobby is lovely, location is perfect you can easily get anywhere across London from Old Street or Liverpool St. Would we stay again? Only if it’s the cheapest (not basic budget) option.
