Shoulder of Mutton

10/10 Excellent
"We thoroughly enjoyed an overnight stay at the Shoulder of Mutton in the ancient and picturesque hamlet of Kirby Hill. A warm welcome and really helpful approach of the team, a bed for our little dog (check when booking which rooms are dog friendly), tasty, well cooked food in the friendly bar, plus a comfortable bed and decent shower. Excellent value for money and just four miles off the A66 but a world apart from the traffic far below the hill on which the pub stands. Don’t miss the opportunity to stay if you’re looking for a convenient stop on your north/south journey."

"Amazing location for travelling around the dales. Easy to find also. Free breakfast served each morning is ideal and the host is great. Lovely place and would stay again! Very friendly and they had no problem hosting kids either considering it seems like it’s mostly adults who stay. We also booked very short notice and they were happy to accommodate for us and went above and beyond sorting a room out. Great communication from the host as well. Very happy with our stay. Richmond is just down the road less than ten minutes drive away for shops and places to eat or takeaways."
