8/10 Very good

I stayed at this hostel on 8 different occasions in the last 2 years. This was the first time in a private room and was very, very happy with it. Room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. I noticed that the comunal area on the top floor , however, looked unloved. No more microwave, no more guest fridge. Not a shelf available. Although in the past I have prepared basic meals there, I couldn’t, now. Still an excellent place to spend the night, though. And the guys at reception are just the best!

My First Choice Of Hostel In San Jose
I go to San Jose several times a year and i have been on this hotel/hostel twice now. Their shared room is very clean, beds are comfortable and it is unlike other hostels i have been too. Best thing is their very affordable rate that even includes breakfast. Highly recommended.
View from the 5th floor (Common Room)
The common room which is very spacious by the way.
Love their walls..
You can hang-out and watch TV if you dont want to play games.

6/10 Good

Hostel was cool but the security man tried to Kiss me on the mouth and grabbed me where he should not be grabbing. I was a solo young female traveler and on my first trip. I didn’t know who to tell because he was the only one there. It’s been three days and I still have anxiety about it.

2/10 Poor

It could have been a good stay...
It would have been a good stay except for... I walked in on the housekeeper going through my things. When I walked in she was shocked. She was trying to deny it. Saying she thought I was in a different bed and pointed to a random one with nothing on it. My bed had personal items on it, so it was obvious I was using it. She tried to "make" my bed by pulling up the blanket (extremely badly) over things I had on my bed and nothing else. I yelled at her to get out. Which she did, but she didn't even close the door. I quickly went through my things. I was missing the money I had on my bed. A 10 mil Colones note. On check out, I told the person at the front desk, but all they said was "I'll talk to her. Happy New Rear." A very disappoint response. No apology or attempt to make it better. Aside from the staff, the room was stuffy and smelly with no air flow or air conditioning. But it was clean and the breakfast was fine. I liked the entertainment area. Overall, stay somewhere else.

Good value for money
Really well-located hostel. You can take a public bus directly from an airport and save some money. The hostel doesn't have air-con which can be a problem for some.

Good choice for budget accommodation in San Jose
Reliable hostel conveniently located walking distance from the Tica Bus station with 24/7 check in and check out. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I like the cafeteria on the 3rd floor - good lunch option. Also coffee and tea available 24/7 on the top floor.

It is located on a main street. The entrance door is always closed for safety. It is very clean everywhere, even in common areas. There is well equipped kitchen with free tea and coffee. On the day we arrived, Mr.Guilermo Fernandez was on duty. He allowed us choose the room we liked, showed us all amenities. Next day, after we checked out, he allowed us to leave our luggage in a hostel, to come back and get ready for the late evening flight ( there is no left luggage office in San Jose! ). He gave us all the information we needed. Amazing ! This place is the best value for your money and even more.

The rooms are spacious and clean. There are common areas on almost all floors and foosball, pool table, TV room on the 5th floor for entertainment. There is also a travel desk on the 5th floor. Though i didn't use their services, would imagine they arrange tours etc. Wifi connectivity was good throughout the hostel. Staff were quite friendly and helpful. They managed to get me a super fast laundry service. Location wise, central avenue is about 10-15 minutes walking distance. Close to TICA bus station.

Got a private room and was so much nicer than expected for a hostel. It was bigger than expected that felt like i was in a hotel instead of hostel. It was clean. Only tip is to contact the place in advance especially if your coming late at night as the place is small and reception close early so if your arriving late at night you need to contact them to make sure the security guard is expecting you and have everything prepared for you especially if you dont speak spanish because the guard doesnt speak english.
