Fabulous Views, Great Room

Booked just one night as a last minute getaway. Stayed in the Penthouse which has a large blacony with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom great. The beams are low at the edges of the room but we are both tall and managed to avoid them :) I would highly recommend this place and will be staying here again in the future.

Lovely location a couple of minutes walk to the village centre and the quirky pub restaurant affiliated to the guesthouse. Food was limited but fine and the staff lovely and attentive. Made a nice change from the hotels we normally frequent in Grasmere. A minor issue would be the need for a shower attachment to the bath in the suite we stayed in. The garden was quiet and secluded where we enjoyed a bottle of champagne we brought with us as an aperitif before the meal. English breakfast in the morning at the pub was excellent and we came away with a bottle of Grasmere gin from the attached brewery. What’s not to like about this quiet hidden gem. Highly recommended.

Amazing location with Grasmere on your doorstep, beautiful room with views over farmland and the lake. Didn't realise upon booking we'd have access to a sauna which was a lovely surprise - but best of all was watching the badgers on the lawn at dusk right outside our windows - an unforgettable experience!
