Complain for overbook (extermely bad experience)
We had a very bad experience when check-in at Moxy London Stratford and would like share the details as follows:- 1. First of all, we have paid the booking of staying at Moxy Stratford from 14/7 to 17/7 few weeks before via Expedia. 2. When we arrived the hotel at 12:45am on 15/7, the manager hid the truth that they actually had no room for us, but told us that the computing system was down. And later at 1:30am, she promised us that the problem would be solved shortly, that’s why we still waited for her to come back. 3. We then waited for over 1 hour until 2:00am with no direction / care to us, and just left us and kept tell us to wait with no actual direction / solution. 4. We finally decided to ask for refund of the payment for 3 nights at 2:00am since the manager / Moxy Hotel could not provide the rooms for us as per the agreement. Then the Manager finally told us that the hotel was fully booked at the first place with no rooms..so we left Moxy at 2:30am with no accomodation at the end. 5. The manager sent an email to Expedia Partner Central Team to confirm no room arranged for us to handle the refund on behalf. Yesterday, the manaager sent an email to us again that they would not handle the refund anymore & asked us to handle by ourselves instead. From the above ridicious arrangements, we could hardly accept that this would happen from an international hotel group. It also reflected no gurantee / protection from the booking via Expedia.

Terrible! Moxy doesn't even provide basics
One of my worst hotel stays ever. Marriott's promise of lifestyle? What kind of lifestyle is this suppose to be? To resign on every thing that could make your stay pleasant? It is like a hostel but not charging the hostel prices. Room has no: telephone, trash bin, wardrobe, safe. As there is no phone you have to go all the way down to the reception if you need something. Actually there is not really a reception - it is a very noisy bar. Staff - all very young is not trained well - nonprofessional. Seems they are all students on a temporary job. First night I had to walk down to the reception 5 times to get things right. The TV wouldn't work as after check in there opens a window on the screen asking whether you want to connect tv with you phone/tablet. This window would just not close by not reacting on the remote. After two times telling the front desk - bar tenders a young men would show mercy to come up to the room and have a look at it. He said this happens all the time here and that he would just to reset the system - he just could not reach the switch as it was hidden behind a wooden panel - I had to hold his phone to light him the way. It took us only about 10 min. Then I could start to eat my cold Lasagna that I got my self from the front desk - I mean the bar. A tip: if you decide to buy a bottle of beer or wine remember that you don't have an opener and no glass in your room before you get back to your room. Otherwise you will need to go again all the way down ...

Conveniently located near major transport hub
- Though Breakfast was included in the booking and I even sent a copy of my booking confirmation to the hotel staff, we had to explain ourselves again and again each morning at breakfast why our room number was not on their list. that was quite a nuisance and very unprofessional on the part of the hotel - The toaster was broken in the breakfast area, so we could not toast our bread. - staff was (deliberately?) not handing us back one of our stored luggage items. after it finally showed up after we left, the hotel was not able to send it back to us for more than 3 weeks!! still waiting... Unbelievable. - many guests were not cleaning up their breakfast trays from the tables (and honestly I can understand why, as this should not be part of the task of a hotel guest!). however used trays were left on the tables for ages by their staff and it looked like a huge mess at times in your breakfast area because of that. in the end we often ended up putting away used trays of other guests in order to get a table for breakfast. - There was a constant cold draught in the breakfast area which at times made it very uncomfortable sitting there. - Warm water was not available for a whole day during our stay, leaving us not being able to wash or shower. - generally staff appear to be totally lacking of training. and probably most of them are cheap labour foreigners with absolutely no hotel background. even though most of them have been friendly.

Great location for London Stadium and Westfield
Stayed at the hotel for the Foo Fighters concert at the London Stadium which is 10 walking distance, perfect for the venue. Hotel has very cool and trendy vibe, everything is very modern, love the downstairs lounge and bar area, bedrooms are decorated with same trendy vibe. It's just a shame that staff didn't get the memo to be cool.. Check in took over 45 min, having reception in the bar was bit unusual, staff was very slow. Buying a sandwich in the evening took 5 min a 4 people at the till to work out how to get the payment. Staff were arguing between one another about issue with the till, hardly acknowledging the line of people waiting there to pay, it was poorly handled. Breakfast was nice, continental and tasty but again staff let it down when guy with clip board was chasing there after group of 4 people asking them rudely if they paid, which they did but staff was by no means discreet nor did he apologize to the group, felt awkward on their behalf.. So all in all, hotel itself is great, rooms are quiet, good size for 1-2 nights stay. Perfect location for Westfield shopping and London Stadium (West Ham). They just need to train their staff properly, it's shame to have the impression tainted by the issues that can be easily handled by training your staff. I would stay again if attending concert at the London Stadium.

The Moxy chain of hotels is our favorite chain and again we were not disappointed. The hotel is stylish, has that signature good smell in the lobby, the staff are very friendly, and the toungue in cheek jokes are everywhere. The room was modern and clean, the bed comfy and the TV set greeted me with my name and offered to connect to my smart device if I wished to stream something. As usual with Moxy, there are some small downsides, you have to decide for yourself if they are deal breakers. The rooms are a bit on the small side with no desk and little room to store your luggage, the Moxies don't have their own kitchen so while the breakfast is fresh no warm meals are served (e.g. no scrambled eggs nor sausages). The breakfast is also quite on the expensive side costing £12 per person per day so we decided to have breakfast elsewhere (sorry Moxy). Also, if you add a request during booking (e.g. if you ask for a room on a higher floor) the request won't reach Moxy, it's best to check with them directly. On the plus side, the hotel is very close to the Stratford station (less than a five-minute walk) which comes in handy in London rain, however, if you decide to leave the window a bit open during the night there is quite some noise from the street. Some might be bothered by it, some not. All in all a pleasant Moxy experience. If you like the chain you won't be disappointed and we don't hesitate to recommend this Moxy, too.
